Diane,
I am Anabaptist yes, in my belief system. If someone would like to know the details of our church situation please send me a pm as it is very delicate.
There are many Baptist churches that teach the ordinance of the headcovering. just do a search on headcovering.

Baptistic DOES NOT COUNT.

BAPTISTIC
\Bap*tis"tic\, a. [Gr. ?] Of or for baptism; baptismal.
It means you believe in baptism. But so do the RCC, so it does not make you baptist. -
Once again, we have to come back to truth.
1. The headcovering was a SYMBOL of authority as the Scripture says. Paul has the command to be under authority, and to demonstrate that outwardly. In the 1st century, a veil was the most natural 'covering'.
I refuse to let me wife wear one, as people might conjure up ideas about the Amish and other unbelievers of which I have ZERO desire to associate with.
My wife does wear an outer 'covering' that is both godly and pleasing to me.
2. It is NOT ungodly for a woman to have shorter hair. This idea about cutting one's hair is nonsensical. The term for 'long hair', could also be understood as 'neat hairdo'. In other words, Paul is talking about having orderly hair. Many women with long hair do not keep it up, and it is an embarrassment for their husband. Hair that is long and resembles a rat's nest does not bring honor to God.
You would think people would allow the Scripture to dictate belief. -

Hey, I'm a member of a Independent Baptist Church. You all are only making an issue, because it would tickle you pink if I got thrown off this board. -

In fact, it was implied to me, to literally, shave my head. And ya know what?? I almost did!!! But not for the reasons that were listed because of twisted scripture, but because it was something that I kinda always wanted to do anyway, and I finally had an *excuse*.
But, alas, my daughter and I made an agreement to have the same hairstyle, so I still have my "bob"Click to expand...
A few of the ladies here, have read the verses that have been presented over and over and over again and disagree with the interpretation. So what? Does that make them less of a Christian? Nope!!! </font>[/QUOTE]No, Dina it certainly does not. What makes someone saved is the blood of Jesus Christ.
Also, the last time this was discussed you and I were discussing this. I was reading every one of your posts with interest as you seemed to be discussing the issue at hand and not side topics. I was enjoying discussing it with you, I felt no ill-will towards you or anger. Thank you for that, I think that was in November. -

No, you said you were anabaptist, you also said there was a difference. Say what you like, everyone can see the truth, you can't hide truth.

But, why be concerned about what the world thinks anyway? I was afraid to veil at first too because I knew people would make fun of me. No one asked me if I was Amish though. There were no Amish around for miles.
I know someone will jump on this so I will say, yes people do ask me about the veil and what it means. But, that is not why I wear it, I wear it based on 1 Corinthians 11:1-15. The Word is the reason for the headcovering, the Word only, nothing else, just the precious Word of God.
I agree that sisters ought to maintain their glory with daily cleansing and brushing. -
