Can anybody tell my why, in a section titled Bible Versions/Translations the thread gets closed if you logically mention with ample proof that the KJV Version (OOPS) is the best most accurate translation. Is not the King James (OOPS) Bible a version or translation?
Okay Guys, is this what you really want to hear. The NASV, is the most perfect, inspired, inherent word of God for English speaking man kind. It is the best, most loved and reared by the most brilliant scholars of our time. It is baised upon the best and most accurate manuscripts. Westcott and Hort were the greatest scholars in history. The KJV (OOPS) is an outdated Bible that none can truly understand without living in the times it was written. Therefore it is not the best. It is to old and only wackos and ignorant fuddiementalist that have no Scholarship hold to this archaic position.

It was not closed because you said it was the best, it was your insistence that it is the ONLY one in English. We are not going to deal with KJVO discussions in this forum.

Some Help Please C4K
4 questions 4 C4k
1. What is the most accurate translation(s) in English?
2. Can there be only one that is the most accurate?
3. Is the most accurate the best?
4. Do we want the Best?

People are entitled to hold their own opinions, but when unsupportable opinions such as the KJVO position are stated as fact and everyone else is supposed to blindly accept those opinions, then it becomes very controversial.
God graciously allowed for the preservation of His word through various English Bible versions down through the years. He was just as active in this preservation with the HCSB as He was with the Bishops' Bible and the Geneva Bible prior to 1611. God did not intend for His word to be trashed as it is by many who support the KJVO opinion, but that we should all accept His word as He has so graciously preserved it down through the years. It is not the particular English words that are preserved, but God's own word, the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. The entire Bible, from start to end, focuses on Jesus Christ, and it is this message God Has preserved for us. Not one of the legitimate MVs tells us of an alternate plan of salvation. That is the word God preserved, not a particular set of English words. The meanings of words change in a living language, so it is more important that the message be preserved than for particular English words to be preserved.
We should be on our knees thanking God every day that He has preserved His word for us in the NKJV, the NASB, the HCSB, the NIV and in many other English Bible translations just as well as He has preserved His word in the various KJVs. -

1. Not the 1611 KJV (unless you believe the apocrypha is also the inspired, perfectly preserved Word)
2. Sure there can. Has there ever been a perfect human translator? What are the measuring points to what "accuracy" entails, as neither the Hebrew nor Greek can be translated perfectly word for word.
3. Depends. Trying to translate the Hebrew and Greek word for word makes for an almost impossible rendering, and impossible to read.
4. I'm happy with what God has allowed. If you are not, that is between you and Him. -

For those who believe the Bible, there is no assertion that one English translation is perfect or is the only acceptable word of God. That assertion comes only from those who assert the opinion of man over that of God. -
Ehud;
I see that you have only just started on this msg board. Welcome my friend.
As you can see by my sign up date, I have been here a while now and I need to admonish you to leave it alone. Some will not hear. Some will. But NOT on this board. That is just the way it is.
There are many good men with whom you may interact with and you can learn much from them. In addition there are many good discussions which occur from tiime to time which will give you a great opportunity to sharpen your Sword.
Accept that this subject (i.e. KJVo) is forbidden by the powers which control this board and move one to other discussions.
Be gracious yet firm in your convictions. Compromise for no one. At the same time, remember Paul's words. Let your speach be gracious SEASONED with salt.
Most times anymore I just leave this forum to they who wish to control it and I interact in other forums. It is much better for my own spirit this way. -

2. Possible, but all versions have strengths and weaknesses.
3. Depends on what you mean by most accurate. The most literal (closest word for word) tranlations are not all that readable or understandable for most people. The important thing is to get the message of scripture into a form that is easily understood by the reader. For some, the NASB is the best, and for others it is the NIV or even the NLT.
4. Yes, which is why I use the best that God has provided - both old and new.
