They're right, had this been leaked sooner, or just released, it would have saved lives. I'd like to know who is responsible for keeping it under wraps. Isn't that the whole point of body cams?

The racial motivation theory also seems to be gone at this point. Take away the knee, Floyd may be alive, but take away the resisting he'd be alive. Take way the drugs he'd be alive. Take away the criminal activity he'd be alive. Had he listened to his friends urging him to cooperate, he'd be alive.

He was in police custody. Once the handcuffs are on, the police assume responsibility for his well being. How he got there doesn’t matter with reference to police responsibility for his care.

The police officer knelt on his neck until he passed out, quit breathing, then kept his shin on his neck for at least 2 1/2 more minutes.

    That’s what killed him.

The police don’t get to kill people because they resist, or use drugs, or not listen to their friends or lay down in the street instead of getting into the police car.

Bad judgments on his part, sure. But people using good judgment usually don’t end up arrested.

    peace to you

No one disagrees with this. The officer was in the wrong, and is responsible for Floyd's death.

The points made in the video are also valid. This was touted as a race motivated targeted murder. It was not. People have died as a result. Fellow police officers have been murdered in retaliation. A young mother was murdered for saying all lives matter. It was all based on the narrative of a compliant detainee who was killed because of his skin color.

This is not evidence of systematic racism in police departments as it was touted. This was an officer grossly mishandling someone in handcuffs because of some initial resisting. Negligent, criminal, but not a targeted racial murder. Why then, was this body cam footage not release sooner?

Some are saying that Minneapolis trained police to hold a suspect down with a knee. I have no idea if that is true.

A full autopsy report on George Floyd, the man who died after being restrained by Minneapolis police last month, reveals that he was positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. The 20-page report also indicates that Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, although the drugs are not listed as the cause.
Medical Examiner's Autopsy Reveals George Floyd Had Positive Test For Coronavirus

He was not acting like a normal sane person. Since he was sick with Covid and had serious drugs in his system, that could have been a leading contributor to why he died, regardless of being pinned to the ground. Did he not say to the cops while standing, that he could not breath?

If he had Covid, that should be listed as cause of death.

It doesn't matter. The cops broke use of force procedures. Further, what that cop did was unnecessary. If the suspect dies while you are engaged in use of force you better be able to justify it. That cop couldn't.

When I was at Sentara Hospital in Norfolk, VA for a doctor appointment last week, I asked the nurse how many covid patients they have, she answered 21 at their ICU, and she added another ER nurse told her a patient came in dead from an auto accident, with cause of death listed as covid-19, and we both agreed they are padding the numbers, in even ridiculous ways. But to list Floyd death as due to covid would go against the political agenda would it not?, so they dont. They are hypocritical liars.

Floyd told police that his mother had just died but she had died two years ago. With all of the drugs that he had in him and the beginnings of covid plus the clear Biden-like confusion about where he was and what he needed to do to cooperate in this small matter with the police, it seems clear that he had medical problems made worse by the drugs that he was on at the time of the stop. With his long police record and times in prison, I think that he thought that he was going back to prison over the counterfeit money and that was the reason that he did not cooperate with the police. Clearly, one of the symptoms of covid is severe difficulty in breathing. Three people were murdered in downtown Indianapolis because of this. Indianapolis should change their name to Little Chicago because of the high murder rate for the last couple of decades.

Most cities are doing away with police departments or cutting the police budgets in half. That should solve the problem.

MUST READ: Body Cam Transcript Tells a Different Story on the Death of George Floyd

seems to me that he was "hooping". overdosing at the get-go, infected with rona, freaking out even worse at the presence of the
cops and started dying right then and there. Keith Elison overcharged bigly.

the USAToday hacks think it was: George Floyd death: Neck restraint allowed in Minneapolis can kill

there's no way this will be called a murder, even the kneeling officer will be acquitted of that charge and Minneapolis will burn yet again.

    Serious symptoms of Covid-19:
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
    Chest pain or pressure
    Loss of speech or movement

Yup. Floyd had all of those. But those are the same symptoms as having a cop kneel on your neck, so it’s hard to say.

Here’s another symptom Floyd had: “New confusion”.

The police choked a man in handcuffs until he passed out, once passed out the police kept the knee on the neck, choking, until he stopped breathing, once he stopped breathing the police kept the knee on the neck, choking, for another 2 :45 seconds.

    It is murder, 1st degree.

    peace to you

Where was that established? The autopsy did not conclude that. If they were to go for first degree, he would certainly be acquitted; even a second degree charge will not likely stick.

On the video, you can see when he passes out. Once he passes out, another police officer checks his pulse and tells the one on his neck he has no pulse. 2 :45 seconds later he gets off his neck.

    peace to you

The Minneapolis Police Force has been corrupt for at least 50 years, maybe longer. It's not insignificant nor a coincidence that far left leaning progressives have been running Minneapolis City hall for over 50 years.
Officer Chauvin is a bad apple. He has a record far before George Floyd, showing he's a bad apple. In this case, it is my hope that not only Chauvin is exposed, but also Black Lives Matter is exposed as the Marxist organization that it is. May God bring justice.

You may be able to convict that Derek cop of manslaughter, even that is iffy. George's death was ruled a homicide but:

The Elements of First Degree Murder:
Intent. In terms of willfulness, first degree murderers must have the specific intent to end a human life. This intent...
Deliberation and Premeditation. Whether a killer acted with the deliberation and premeditation required for first degree...
"Malice Aforethought". Malice generally includes an evil disposition or purpose...

These things may eventually be proven, but it isn’t proven yet, despite your understanding of it.

A fellow police officer tells you that the man you have in custody (handcuffed) that is unconscious after 6 minutes of your knee on his neck and him begging for his life is now not breathing and doesn’t have a pulse. You keep your knee on his neck for another 2:45 seconds.

Those facts show intent to kill, deliberation, and malice with an evil disposition. Yes, that is my understanding of it.

    peace to you
