Hey, Tom.. .maybe your new church slogan can be...
"Shoulder licking good"
Or
"We take a licking, but we keep on ticking"
Holding hands with a church member (opposite sex) during the sermon?

Tim - Next year I'm coming to you for our 2009 slogan!
I have spoken to young couples "in love" and asked them to calm down. I did it quietly and after the service. But I also warned them that the next time I would do the warning publicly. -

can you see the shame in my head hanging way over there?
I certainly hope so

My DH and I were reading this thread this afternoon and coud not figure how holding your husband's hand during the sermon is showing submission.
Where did this idea come from? -
I have to wonder why they are holding hands. Are they there together, or are they two people who just happen to be sitting together today?

You missed one.
We're married.
My wife and I do at times play patty fingers during the service. But then without any kids, we're still on our honeymoon after sixteen years. -
When hubby went to church with me I would hold his hand. We are married, I see nothing wrong with it. It isnt PDA offensive IMHO. It doesnt mean we arent paying attention or taking notes. Now cuddling, smooching ect is not appropriate.
If the people arent married then I dont think it is appropriate. Of course its different during prayers, support ect. -
As the question stands,, holding hands with the opposite sex,, my husband is the opposite sex and we hold hands all the time. -
How bout another poll:
Should (((reading this thread))) with a member of the opposite sex be allowed during the sermon! :D
Mike
(I'm not touching anybody right now, I PROMISE!!!) -
I held hands with my wife when we were dating during church and, honestly, it proved quite distracting.
Now that we're married...its become not nearly as distracting! -
You are correct. I should have included this statement.
Yet it was nice to hear Squire's story
It looks like we're almost completely divided upon this issue -
Joe, what did you expect? We're Baptists!!! -
I think it a o.k.....
