I think it is ridiculous to ask for a license for believer to get together PERIOD! Jesus said For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.:jesus:

Two or three, yes. But if fifty cars create a hazard in a residential neighborhood, then that is a different story.

was it stated there were 50 cars? i would think this would be an at church bible study, not a personal at home bible study.
i wonder, do people having parties need a license? a family get together after a funeral? wedding showers?
    or just bible studies?
requiring a license to do bible study means they know whose studying the bible, when and where, they can easily track anyone this way, or be able to arrest them if they can't track them.

So many things can factor in.

Many, many many years ago we were part of a church plant in an area that was mostly members of what is generally considered a cult.

Our group wanted to build, but absolutely could not get a building permit from the city council composed of members of this group.

We started meeting in homes, and were squelched by the rules--quite valid rules--against running businesses and organizations in homes without a permit. Sought a permit. Could not get one from that same group of councilmen.

Tried meeting just a few here and a few there--city council learned of it--squelched.

Finally the local RCC heard of our problem and graciously offered us their entire facilities including using their SS supplies for the kiddos on Sunday afternoons.

A party or a wedding is basically a one time thing - and I wouldn't have a problem with it. And I sure wouldn't complain about a funeral.

But if they were having a party 2 or 3 times a week... well thats another story.

I live across the street from a small business college. Even though they have a parking lot, thier students consistently park on our block - often illegally - and even if it is legal, it is a problem for us as we have trouble finding a parking spot. I have called the police several times for the illegal parking, yet very rarely is anything done. I have also spoken to the admin of the school - their basic answer - tough!

From a parking/neighborhood POV - there is no difference from this school and a church meeting w/o sufficient parking.

But to achieve 50 cars - they will need to start with 10.
Also, it used to be there would be 4 or 5 arriving in one vehicle, now it is not uncommon to have only 1 or 2 per vehicle - even if they live close by.
