What scripture would you use to back this up?

Yeah, neither does the majority, you've plenty of company. Eternal life comes from a formula found in the Bible that has to be followed, an incantation that one must repeat.

In essence, what you're saying is Christ's atonement does not cover the sin of unbelief, whatever the cause of that may be.

Why do you separate children & the mentally ill from some poor schlub on Gilligans Island who has never heard the gospel? Truth be told, are not they all biblically ignorant? Why relegate the heathen to hell?

Because I see scripture supporting the babies and infants, King David. As for the ignorant, the bible teaches that belief comes from hearing, I see no verses to support the idea that the ignorant are saved could you supply some?

I don't assign all of them, just those not saved by election by God,a s they will get the message and be made able to respond to it to get saved!

Not in this world & thats what people dont understand. They want to be saved by grace but they want to hang onto a part of it. The bottom line is that I am a Old School Baptist & our principal beliefs are Sola Gratia / Saved by Grace (Alone). Thats my fervent belief.

So there are really only two positions that a person can occupy on the matter of salvation. One is that salvation is by grace alone, and the other is that salvation is by works. It cannot be a combination of the two. A person may say that he believes in salvation by grace, but if he sets forth any act of man's will, such as repentance, faith, baptism, or hearing the gospel, as a condition for obtaining it, then this position must be put on the works side. Old School Baptists believe that salvation is of the Lord, that it is by His grace, and that nothing needs to be added to it. It is in Gods hands so He is going to make that selection & that includes infants, those with brain damage, the children that are aborted, the heathen who never sees or hears the gospel. Remember, the Father has made the selection & the Son has taken care of the atonement & the HS has provided the enlightenment.

God requires a sinner to place faith in Jesus in order to get saved, as faith is what connects us to receiving His grace...

How can that be 'adding works", since God demands that to happen?

God Himself told Jonah that there were 120,000 children, those under understanding wrong from right, whom He desired to have Grace upon, yet prophet did not want him to!

NONE go to hell due to unbelief though, as unbelief just confrms that stae/condition of already been judged guilty as a sinner!

Again, ANY NT verse supports ANY were saved apart from hearing the Gospel, and receiving jesus thru.by faith?
