Away here in Texas, the bright sunny South, it is 42°F at 9:24 am on Thursday January the 31st. Looks like our cold is behind us for awhile. The forecast shows temperatures rising till the hit the mid-70s by the first of next week.

Away here in Texas, the bright, Sunny South,
The cold storms of winter defy;
The dark, lurid clouds that envelop the North,
Scarce darken our beautiful sky.

Definite cold wave here in Arizona, going to drop into the lower 60's next week. Brrr :( It needs to warm up so I can start my garden work, I refuse to take my jacket out of the closet to work outside in the daytime!

The Northeast missed the core of the cold - temps were only 15-20° below the average rather than 30° below normal. :Cool
About -5 at my place at 7 AM this morning. We've had 65" of snow with continuous snow cover since November 10, and current depth in my garden is 28". Well above my averages but no records.
