I enjoy dicussion boards! However, I don't have much time for them. How much time do you spend on the Baptist Board?

My wife says I spend too much time on the Board - as you might have already guessed - we don't agree on that subject!

I spend a lot less time than people would imagine except when I'm working in the store. Those days I have nothing to do but read and post or watch a movie.

We turn on the computer when we get up and turn it off when we go to bed. I keep the board open at all times and will respond to what intersts me in Today's Active Topics. I have my morning tea while posting and post at night when my boys watch their sports or play on the Playstation.

So, I answered accorind to when I am at home and not at work since that is not 'normal' for me.

Diane---let Blackbird read between the lines here!!! What you're tryin' to reveal to the innocent readers of the Baptist Board is . . . is . . . is . . . although you have weeeeeeeeeeeelll over 10,000 posts----that you don't spend THAT much time on the board----

For an old man tryin' to quit his Pall Mall's----over 10,000 Pall Mall's is a lot of Pall Mall's!!! Wouldn't you agree???

Doctor Blackbird to patient: "Maaaaaan! Those cigarettes are gonna kill ya one day!"

Patient to Doctor Blackbird: "I don't smoke all that much, Doc! Honest, I don't! Only when I wake up in the mornin' till I go to bed at night!!"

Doctor Blackbird to patient: "That'll be $100.00, please!!"

Patient to Doctor Blackbird: "Doc! You know I don't have that kind of money!!"

Doctor Blackbird to Patient: "You would if you'd go "cold turkey" on those Pall Malls!!"

Tried to vote, couldn't, message: I already have voted.

Weird. This is first time I even saw this poll.

Oh well. Guess I was not "predestined" to vote.

Has my BB cookie crumbled?

Blackbird: check out my Quarantined church post. Love to hear your comments on this, bro.

Seems like "I live here", but it is because my laptop is here in the living room and I can read and occasionally type a response just about any time I click.

I have therapy (anodyne electric and rebuilder in water) that each take time - nearly 2 hours a day in the morning and 45 minutes at night. I am trapped with my feet all wired or in hot water, so I hit my personal site, the BB and the FFF.

But MOST is here on the BB. Couldn't tell by the paucity of posts . .

LOL, Blackbird! 10631 posts over 423 days is 25 posts a day. I remember doing that many in the Hymn Game alone! Remember, the moderators get credit for talking about YOU in the moderator forum. ;) ;)

Yep! Yep! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!! Twenty five posts a day!!! Verses Paw-Paw's "Pack-a-day" Pall Mall's----it all about evens out, you reckon????

And EXACTLY what do the moderator's say about Blackbird in the Moderator forum?? Do ya'll ever speak of his "genius'?" Of his unsearchable knowledge as a Dentist/Veternarian?? His remote slyness as a spy?? Or his supreme capabilities as a Brain Transplant surgeon?? Or just his sorry, good for nothin' preachin' in the Southern Baptist realm???

It all depends on how much you read as opposed to how much you respond by posting; how fast you read; how fast you post; and more than anything else, how fast your browser is. As for me, I am on dial up and use a very old computer with little memory.

All in all it takes quite awhile to get to the many things that interest me here. Some days I am here longer than others.

Sometimes I am on here for hours, sometimes just a few minutes. I usually end up on here about every other day (my wife limits my 'puter time).

I guess it all boils down to what catches my attention, or my passion of the moment. Some days there's not a lot shaking on here...but those are few and far between thankfully!!!

In Christ,
Trotter

Thankful

I have been on the board 2 years (730 days) and I have 4020 posts. That would be 5.5 posts per day.

I'll NEVER tell Blackbird!
Okay folks... some of you only post a few times a day on A DOZEN DIFFERENT BOARDS! Don't think we don't know! ;) ;) ;)

Just look at Dr. Bob! Add up all his different sites and he's probably got 40 kazillion!

I only post here! I'm a member of RaptureReady and they'll write me every once in a while asking me to come and 'post' but this is enough for me.

1360 days 15442 posts = just over 11 posts a day

It just FEELS like I'm always mouthing off about something.

"I find it to be a waste of time and spend very little time here." Tom said deniably.

I've been on somebodies bulletin board
for the last 19½-years, Obviously not
this bulletin board. Back then we called
a bulleting board a "Wall". Then it
was a posting wall. Then it was a
bulletin board.

Ed! Has there really been an internet for THAT long? We had a DOS computer back in the 1980's... but I had no idea there was anything remotely like this. LOL

I have to discipline myself to 20 to 30 minutes. I have so many interests that I would be on here at the expense of other things--family, job, home business, church, etc. God did not call us to the internet. He called us to serve Him through the life purpose he planted within us.

BB can be a time drainer and one's family can come to resent time spent here when it could be spent with them.

Word to the wise.

No, there was no internet
like today back 19½-years-ago.
In fact, the Intenet is a totally different
thing about every 4 years.

Here is what I said:
"I've been on somebodies bulletin board

There were electronic bulletin boards
in June 1984 when i hooked up.

Ah the good ol' days

300-baud modem (compare to 100,000-baud now)
NO HARD DRIVE (compare to 40,000 Meg now)
64K memory (compare to 512 Meg now)
etc.
