Featured How will God reconcile believers in heaven?

So George arrives in Heaven, and St. Peter gives him the grand tour. They enter a building with many rooms. Peter opens the first door and George sees some staid looking folks worshiping with hymns. Peter says, "These are the Presbyterians." They come to another door, and when they look in they see some folks worshiping in a very excited way, whooping and hollering. Peter says, "And these are the Pentecostals."

They come to a third door with a peephole in it, and Peter says, "Shh. Be very quiet." George looks through the peephole and everything looks normal--just some folks worshiping in their own way. He whispers to Peter, "Who are these?" Peter whispers back, "It's the Baptists, and they think they are the only ones here."

 

1 Cor 2
[9] But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

 

Amen to that.

 

My question is: If many here think we will be reconciled in Heaven doesn't that say somethoing about how we should treat other Christians here on earth? Why not try to reconcile our differences now and work together against the real enemy who is Satan?

 

That would require all of us to live as though we, actually, believed seven days a week!

 

Absolutely! But we are only human and will continue to slip back into sin. If we repent this w3ill be forgiven but it's a good goal to shoot for.

 

the problem is that we can't reconcile. At least not to doctrinal unity

 

We should be able to agree on the essentials of the Faith though! and to grant grace to allow us to disagree on those other non essentials!

 

The ones that all Christians need to hold with are laid out in the scriptures...

 

2Cor.3

1. [14] But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.

Heb.10

1. [20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Matt 18

[20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

 

So true, but we seem to be much better at disagreeing on things that will not really matter in the end, and hard to agree on those things with eternal significance!

 

Amen and when we get Legalism in our heads it makes our Witness grow so weak.
