A poster who cannot participate in baptist-only forums asked me to start this topic:

"Is Hyles Anderson College heading in a new direction with Jack Schaap or is he sipmly another Jack Hyles?"

Thanks for input from people who know.

It may be a new direction, but if so, it's even worse. There was a big beef a year or so ago about Schapp's aberrant teaching in a series on finances which was later found to be basically plagiarized from some charismatic.

My daughter has a friend who goes there (HAC) and told her a few weeks ago about a message Schaap had preached recently from Jeremiah showing that Russia was going to attack the U.S. and the U.S. would disappear under the sea. The girl was all excited about this great message and my daughter said (with all the tact of her dear father) "I can't believe you believe that garbage just because he says so. What ever happened to searching the Scripture?"

Nothing new after Hyles was gone. Old Same! Jack Schaap is the same as Dr. Jack Hyles. Nothing change! Soul-winning method there in HA college is still wrong -- never change for better.

Mr. Schaap is worse than his father in law in the area of incorrect doctrine. From what many who attended pastors school, and several people I know who have relatives who are students at the "college", it is proceeding with easy believism, inflated numbers on salvation, baptism, and the like, and they continue to try to keep scandals squelched by the use of force.
It's a shame, because there are many, many good people there being misled.

</font>
That's a big part of the problem. Dr. Hyle's ministry isn't the ministry he should be perpetuating. It should be the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. Somewhere along the way, HAC/FBCH forgot about that.

You have GOT to hear the message - actually he says the Soviet Union are going to destroy the US - yes - you read that right. "After the Soviets attack the US with nuclear missles the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans will join together to swallow up America." Just heard that quote.

"You kids who listen to rock music...are making a mockery out of my God, my country, and my religion."

"America, America" is the name of the message.

Again proof that Jack Schaap isn't as educated as one might think. Why would ANYONE send their child to set under this man?

Cannot but think that the men sending innocent youth to be abused and brainwashed by the HAC thinking are doing so for PERSONAL glorification. Prestige (in that looney-tune circle) for sending them.

And perpetuating the doctrinal deviation that is destroying and dividing the church.

I agree, Dr. Bob. There are many men out there who want to keep the "legacy" of JH/HAC/FBCH going no matter what the cost financially and in lives destroyed by false doctrines.

I went to the Hyles Anderson college for a college tour. I was saddened on every wall they had a picture of Jack Hyles and one of his sayings. I was thinking what is this college about Hyles or Jesus?
The first semester of college they make yes make you take a class on the life and ministry of Jack Hyles. I was shocked at that. I was even more shocked when I heard this class was there even before Hyles was dead. Their preachers preach that all the other Bible versions are created by the devil and that you can only be saved by a KJV this is horrible!
This sounds like a cult to me!

It sounds like a cult, my friend, because it is a cult. It's a rotten shame that many who are there, good people, are trapped into that mindset and will probably never come out. The legacy of lies, error and deceit lives on in Schaap. :(

No. They never had a 20,000 seat auditorium. That is not true.
How many seat old bldg? </font>
The old, current auditorium comfortably seats about 5500-6000 (including the mezzanine). The mezzanine is the under-the-balcony section that was put in after the original construction to try to shoe-horn more people in. Each section of the mezz. has a couple of video monitors showing the platform, since unless a person is seated in the 1st or 2nd rows of the mezz. a person actually can't directly see the platform. There are also a couple of overflow rooms with closed-circuit monitors, and they tend to place chairs in every aisle too- which is how FBCH gets away with saying the auditorium seats about 7000.

From what I understand, the new auditorium is supposed to have fixed seating for about 7500.

In the following link, scroll down a little ways to see a picture of the current auditorium. From this angle (high in the balcony) the mezz. is not visible:
