Thanks for posting this poll. Of course you know how I answered.

There you are! I thought you were gone forever!
Hello, hello, hello! I got my magazine! Thank you!

Hi Abiyah,
I was taking a break from here. Do you like the magazine? My husband loves it! I hope you will too. -
I for one do believe that this chapter is not limited to culture. I do believe it carries through all generations. The form of the "covering" can be different. The need for it remains though. There does need to be an outward sign of submission to the husband.
I am amazed when I see people's daughters wearing them. That is a total stretch. -

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the head covering. Some people do in my church. -
First let me say I am delighted to hear that there are some who who wear the symbol of authority in your church.
My daughter understands that the covering is a symbol of submission. I have no problem with any of my children wanting to follow Scripture. I think it will be a blessing for them to obey Him now and not wait until they are older. The verse says women. Some take that to mean when a daughter physically becomes a woman.
As for justification about wearing it full time. Well, I pray and prophesy, (speak the Word of God,) all the time. I try to be ready in season and out of season, always ready to give an answer for the hope that is in me.
Speaking mainly from experience now, I would not ever go back to not being approached about "religious things." I am approached much because of the veiling. I am asked about my faith and asked what church I attend. Last week I even had a man approach me and ask me to pray for him and his wife.
But, the primary reason that I wear the headship veiling is to signify that I am a woman who seeks to honor God in all of life and I pleased to be in my place under my husband. -
Just to make sure we're following the rules correctly:
"You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together." Lev 19:19
The count so far:
1) No long, hippie-looking hair on men.
2) No short, masculine-looking hair on women without a hat (or a Virgin Mary shawl).
3) No cross-breeding your cows.
4) No sharecropping/crop rotation, and:
5) No 50-cotton/50-poly shirts.
Got it. Any other pointers on "God's eternal cultural values"?
:D -
Props to BWSmith for bringing us back to the topic and not chasing trails.

Well, I figured saying "you people are nuts" in an entertaining way would be better than just saying it outright...

There are some pretty liberal theologians who deal with these verses quite seriously and try to understand what Paul is saying (and that's being gracious to them since I actually think they are explaining what they think he should be saying). Their views are represented in the pole. I really don't know where you're coming from as you seem to be mocking the Bible altogether. -
Just responding to PTW's line:
>I for one do believe that this chapter is not limited to culture. I do believe it carries through all generations.
