I am getting used to WindowsMe, but I'm not sure I'm liking it.
I can hear sounds EVERYPLACE on the PC EXCEPT my personal web sites. Other people can hear the midis on my pages - but I cannot.
I have tried everything! Yes, midis are checked on my Real Player AND Windows Media Player. I don't have a problem hearing the music on my stationery or anyplace else...just my pages!
Can anyone help? PLEASE?

Sue, check your internet options, multimedia section, for "play sounds in web pages"; I really doubt that's it, but it's one of the things we need to rule out.
Another possibility has occurred to me, so I need to ask: Are you only attempting to view the page from the geocities web site? Or do you have a saved copy on your computer? -
-
Other than deleting your bookmarks and all your temporary internet files, and then re-accessing the page, I'm stymied.
Please check your pm. -
I still can't hear the midis on my pages, but I can hear music everyplace else.
Please go to http://www.geocities.com/misskitty62656/HOLIDAYPAGE.html and tell me if you can hear the music.
It is really bugging me that I can't hear it. SOMEONE here MUST know what my problem is? Please?
Thanks,

I hear em!!!
-
Thanks Dina. Now if only I could. :(
-
Is it only on that page? Do you hear the midi's from the other pages?
-
I can't hear the midis on ANY of my pages, but I can hear midis on my stationery and all of the sounds on the rest of my computer.
-
I'm looking at the code, and all the pages seem to match and play for me. When was the last time you heard them? Anything change on your puter since then?
-
Dina, this is her NEW computer. Sue, I heard it but it did take a while to start for me. I cannot imagine why you're not hearing it IF you hear it on your stationary! Maybe this computer doesn't have the same player loaded? Used to be I couldn't hear something if it was Cresendo. I ended up loading them all.

OK, I asked Dh about this. He is a Network/software guy.
If it's a new computer, you may not have all the updates that you need.
Do you have Quicktime on your machine? Are you running media player 9? Basically, do you know if you have the latest version of drivers for the program you are using for Midi's?
Also, is your midi option under volume control checked on?
OK, I just read further up on the thread, having a blonde moment.
What version of ME are you running? Version of Realplayer? And version of Media? -
WindowsME2001
Realplayer...RealOne...don't know how to find out which version...I just installed it.
Windows Media Player...don't know how to find out which version

I looked at the source of your page and pulled off this: http://www.geocities.com/misskitty62656/hallelujah.mid
I put it in my address bar and my Windows Media player began playing it. YOU try it Sue!

I did it Diane and I can hear it just fine. So why can't I hear it on my pages???
I must have something checked or unchecked that shouldn't be...I have checked that midis can be played.....don't know where to go from here. :( -
Sue, I keep coming back to your computer.
Do you have the sound files stored on YOUR computer, or only on the GeoCities web site? -
Can you hear it here Sue?

Don: I have them uploaded to the geocities file and I also have them in 'My Documents'. (I can hear the ones I have in My Documents).
Diane: Yes, I can hear that just fine. -
Sue, the ones that you have in My Documents: Move them to a different folder.
Doubt that will make any difference. -
I tried that Don. You're right, it didn't work. I even deleted them from my geocities file and uploaded them from a new file....nothing works!
I want to hear my music!
