So, salvation cannot be "threatened" but Pharisees can tighten the noose of legalism around God's grace. Paul's letter to the Galatians shows us how anathema legalists are to the gospel of grace.
Remembering the Lord's prayer where it was said, "forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into sin but deliver us from evil." Which prayer I pray. And I also desire fellowship with those who desire a certain amount of holiness to go along with their Christian living. Pictured also is the pastor of the Auburn Baptist church where I will visit from time to time, noting the decency and goodness among the people. Which also indicates to me a sanctification and a willingness to follow the leadings of the Holy Spirit.
But... To openly talk of fornication as a part of life is something I don't want to company with or hear about. And... If your going to part with your Christian wife for another I am going to find that something to be rebuked as well....
For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. - Isaiah 62:5
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. - Acts 26:17-19
I am sanctified, forgiven, and have inheritance through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Any sins I may have committed are things I no longer think, or want to be reminded of.
Are you a gnostic?
The gnostics said the flesh could do whatever it wished since the spirit was what God cared about.
Your answer sounds similar to gnosticism.
I float around Holiness... In which I do not mind Baptist, Pentecostal Holiness, Church of God, Assemblies of God, Methodist, Charismatic, Independents... As long as they have an aurora of holiness about them. Stoop out of the Spirit and into the Flesh and I will give you a tilt of my hat, and a southernly...
See ya!
There are indecencies in this day and time to stay away from. If someone is striving for holiness I will hang with them. If we have people still in the party and sex scene it is best for me to part their company.
it is a you judging someone for sin, when you just admitted. by Gods standard, you still sin and fall short. so your just as guilty as they are.
Don't water down the law and excuse your sin. and don't judge someone else. especially their salvation. your just as much a sinner as they are. whether you want to believe it or not.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. - Galatians 5:24-25
1 John 2: 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Lets not forget the Apostle Paul, everyone has a sin nature!
1 Timothy 1: 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
What I do not understand is why a sinner would tell another sinner they are not saved? because the struggle with a sin, when they of their own admission admit they still sin.
