Not at all. I am simply saying the president would have many choices. Entitlements would be one. But there are many others also.
So, what is so wrong in doing what the governors ask?

Obama rewrites or ignores laws as he chooses, you apparently would do the same. If the people of this country have any sense, which is doubtful, that will begin to change after the 2014 elections, dingy harry, obama's gofer, will be gone. -

And you favor stopping all federal funding for disability insurance to all who are disabled in your state?
You favor cutting all $205 million sent to your state for research, primarily at the universities? -
Yes I am! It should be up to the State or Commonwealth ( S/C) to provide for that and in a way that the S/C sees fit

Salty, I was asking Old ... but thanks for your answer.
How much do you believe your state taxes would go up if all federal funding were cut?
-
I would like to hear answers not just from Old - but several others as well
Its easy for a US Senator to vote on a project for his S/C when he knows the whole country will be paying for it. Also its well known that Senators & Congressman will "trade" votes. -
The Federal Government has one primary mission, to defend the country against all its enemies and Obama is throwing in the towel on that. -

For every $1.92 people from your state send to Washington they receive back $2.68.

The Feds have a big job - with the items listed - they do not need to add anything else -

Just curious, why is it that the Red States have the most folk who want government cut, but it is the red states that, for the most part, receive more from the government than they pay to the government?. -
The Federal Government has no money except that which it takes from the people or prints. I want it to stop printing money and reduce the tax take so that bureaucrats don't make twice what the taxpayer does and the states can carry out their responsibility.

I would be all for that, if we could opt out of federal income taxes and various federal programs and regulations. -

I think C.T.Boy has misrepresented and over simplified things, unless he wants us to believe Montana costs the federal government more than it spends on welfare in New York City, alone.
Entitlement abuse needs to be addressed. The reason the dems won't do it is because they will lose votes.
