3%? You haven't been around here, then.
Walk into any emergency room around these parts. 50-75% will be Hispanic, with only a couple who can speak understandable English. 90-100% of them will have no insurance, or be on Tenncare (our state medicare program that can't help actual American citizens due to being overrun by foreigners). It would be extremely rare to see one of them injured; instead, they are there with a cold, or the flu, or a sore back. In other words, they are using government funds to pay for the most expensive care for non-serious ailments.
And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Try strolling into the Department of Human Services offices. Oh, and bring an interpretor because there will be very few in the waiting room who are from north of the Rio Grande. Same thing with the Social Security office (how can someone who has never worked here draw Social Security? Beats the snot out of me!). Or the Drivers License Testing Center (if you can't speak or read English, why are you allowed to drive as all the signs and notifications are in English???).
Basically, any government program or help is flooded by Hispanics, both legal and illegal. But Hispanics are not the only foreigners around here. We have a large Slavic population, but you don't see them lined up for a dole. Same with Hindus, Asians, Africans, etc. Of course, these are all legal immigrants as they couldn't swim across the ocean. The main difference is that they are out working and trying to make a living for themselves and their families. Yes, some Hispanics do, too... but many don't and won't. They'll work off the books so that it doesn't interfere with their handouts (I have seen it for many, many years), or they will work if they can give a bogus SS number (seen that, too, when I worked in Dalton, Georgia).
This is a sore spot for me as I am without a job and have been for quite a while. I am making due, but I am not lined up with my hand out. If I were, I would be turned down because I am a citizen. I know as I tried when things were at their worst and was flat out told that I could bot get assistance since I was a citizen of the state of Tennessee and a natural born American.
I pray a lot about this, and the Lord is working on my heart. But, from where I stand, I am very cold-hearted about it and would love to ship each and every one back to where they came from... and have them pay for their own ticket. -

Trotter, the article says 10.8 million illegal immigrants are in the US. In a nation of 300 million, my quick, in my head math says that is approximately 3 percent of the population.
Hope you find a suitable job soon, my brother. -

Your constant niggling is more of a derail than any post that is related to the topic.
Which, let me add, shows it is not any perceived "off topic" issues that concern you; rather it is your unnatural fascination with me. Yet your repeated refusal to answer questions posed to you in other threads also show you to be just an agitator. BTW, who appointed you the arbiter of what posts are on topic? -
Perhaps you could direct me to them. -
The term "tea bag" has offensive roots and should not be used on a Christian board.
MP, out of respect for some of us, please refrain from using it. -

You want your kids to be apple pickers?
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2011069760_brewster14.html
550 people laid off in Brewster, WA, because of a lack of proper ID. Story says that is about a quarter of the town's population. One farmer told the reporter that his only white employee is his his office manager. Not one white person has asked for job since this depression began.
Do you want to pay $3/pound for apples? Do you want your kids to be migrant farm workers? Do you want to buy apples from China? Or should we let Mexicans come here to pick apples? -

As a noun...fine.
As a verb...not so much. -

1. almost all construction projects would be halted in their tracks
2. quite a number of restaurants would have to close
3. almost all lawn services would be out of business
4. most home/industrial cleaning services would be out of business
There was more, but I cannot remember the other findings at the moment.
Ever think about how much it would cost to deport 12 million people? I man just the airline tickets alone, whew.....................
