Doesn't show anything useful. Prior 1960 or so people came here to become Americans. Now they come here to make some money and go home.

True. No legend either, so we don't know how many people each dot represents, % of total population, etc. Pretty, but pointless.

I guess you didn't see the scale, where a dot = 100 people, and populations of each country comparative to date are pretty easy to look up.

I disagree. My one daughter went to the USA some 16 years ago to live, be with her husband and raise their children. She could earn as much money here and enjoy a rich life as a doctor.

    Cheers,

Unfortunately the people entering this country either by foot, hidden in the back of a truck, or in the hold of a container ship are not coming here to work as doctors.

And we have of A LOT of those people !!

Must be a lot of citizens ready to engage these people in jobs. Who is the greater criminal? A people seeking a place to live in relative peace and safety, or a people who should know better and still break the law?

    Cheers,

    Jim

It's pretty much a criminal enterprise all the way around.

Certainly even people "seeking a place to live in relative peace and safety" know that they are breaking the law when they sneak over the border - otherwise they wouldn't be sneaking.

Also don't make the mistake of thinking that all of these illegals are looking to live in relative peace and safety. Many of them are criminals and gang members.

You no doubt are aware that Canada is dealing with it's own smaller illegals problem with a policy of deportation.

Perhaps you may want to refocus your efforts to ending those deportations and work to protect the illegals merely looking for a place to live in relative peace and safety in your own backyard.

It is a misdemeanor, like the 50 million good Americans who break the speed laws every day.

I am not blind to the illegals in Canada and the problems we have. We are trying to deal with them.

These forums are geared to the USA. If you want to discuss Canada, we are available to do that. The title does say,,Immigration to US...............

As of now, however, everyone assumes we are all Americans!

    Cheers,

    Jim

It's just that you seemed to be sympathetic to illegals in the U.S. and was wondering if you are equally sympathetic to illegals in Canada that are taking Canadian jobs and taxing the resources of Canada's social, educational, and health systems.

I am sympathetic to all humans, and animals to boot.

My post was not denying that these people are illegals. I was pointing out that legal people are hiring them. They don't mind breaking the law and abusing the illegals. That is what I was saying.

Not denying we have a problem in Canada. As we speak Mexicans are planning a move to Canada because of the clamps on them by the USA......We will paddle the same canoe, I fear.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Abusing them how?
    --------------------------------------

It is well known that illegal immigrant workers are often underpaid, overworked and many dumped. At any rate, my point was that legal people are doing illegal things to use these illegal immigrants. Shouldn't you complain as strongly about this?

    Cheers,

    Jim

Well known by whom? The hiring of illegals needs to come to an end. If we just enforced the laws on the books they would go home without deportation. however as far as them being abused I doubt a legitimate case can be made for that. The fact that they are hired at all given their status is as much grace as it is anything else. And the work conditions are most likely better than where they came from.

Nothing more to say. I guess the American newspaper reports are all wrong and I am misinformed. So, they just skip across the border and feed, clothe and house themselves with their fortunes?????????????????

    Cheers,

Well Jim sine it has been proven their is a media bias to the left we know that many of the reports are characterized so as to make public opinion. But those opinion pieces never provide any evidence of said abuse.
