No one would argue with the bolded part. The rest is conjecture and opinion which you are entitled to just as anyone else here is.

Hmm,that would have been 1986. And you didn't know about the NKJ,MLB,Phillips,Norlie,JB etc.? I find that hard to believe.

I know history is not your strong suit but they have been voicing those complaints for centuries now --even back in the 17th.

Yes. Do you doubt that the NIV,ESV,NASB etc. are indeed the Word of God?

The KJV is your favorite. But it is no more the Word of God than the other versions you mentioned. Some would say that the NIV outshines them all. Others would claim that the ESV outshines them all. Still others would maintain that the NASB outclasses them all.

You seem to be uninformed or misinformed. Perhaps you have never read many books that would relate to this matter from the 1600's, 1700's, 1800's, etc. I have read books written by Baptists and others that were printed in the 1600's that pointed out problems with the KJV such as Episcopal bias.

Noah Webster pointed out problems with some of the archaic words and grammar in the KJV back in 1833.

My first sentence contained the following words..................."I should give my thoughts on this."

That's what they were. I see no reason for the unkind responses.

I am with you, Baptist for Life, the KJV was good enough when we fought the advance of liberalism back in the 40's-60's. I have nothing against any of the modern version, but I remain firm to my KJV, and simply compare them with my bible.

My personal bible is a 1945 Cambridge KJV, and I never even checked which year it was published. I know I have changed a lot of words and expressions, and when I read from it, I include those corrections. Far better than changing versions for reading and preaching.

Another version I enjoy reading is the Phillips NT in Modern English, even though Phillips, himself, was very liberal.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Do you,or don't you believe that other versions of the Bible such as the NIV (which your Sunday School teacher uses) the ESV and NASB are the Word of God as much as the KJV is?

If you do believe they are also the Word of God --no problem. If you insist that they are not the Word of God or "It depends" -- big problem Buddy.

Depends if brother is really KJVO or not!
if he is, than ALL other English versions are seen as bogus, as we have the "only true and accurate Version!"

Hopefully, he will reply that he sees KJV as best version, rest are "adequate!"

I think that this describes the way I feel......
    ad-e-quate (àd¹î-kwît) adjective
    1. Sufficient to satisfy a requirement or meet a need. See Synonyms at SUFFICIENT.
    2. Barely satisfactory or sufficient.

IF you hold to that, than you are NOT part of the KJVO cult in Church that holds it as being "Only" version that God has for the Church!

You actually do care what everyone else thinks, or you wouldn't be on here arguing about it incessantly.

I think the KJV is the best translation. I much prefer it. However, I believe that those other versions may be used by anyone who wants to. I don't condemn them or try to change their minds. Nor do I think they are any less Christian. Are they the Word of God? Of course, just IMHO, not as good as the KJV.

red letter day here on the BB!
2 have "converted" out of the KJVO Church, and now allow for rest of us to use "inferior" Bible versions!

I can see the game you are playing, but we are talking about Satan’s attack upon God’s Word.

You can play games if you want, but I am serious.

Who are you speaking to brother, and to what exactly are you referencing? Elaborate?
