    Stilllearning...

It really does not matter what you say or do not say. Anti-KJB sharks swim in these waters.

Correction : Anti-KJVO BB members are patrolling the corridors of error and speaking truth to both the uninformed and the insolent.

I don't see it as a "trick question". There are thousands if not millions of Christians who enjoy a close walk with God in spite of the fact that they use Bible supposedly inferior to the KJV.

There are people in many cultures that use Bibles that are not translated from the TR and are not KJV clones, yet God blesses, people are saved and churches are planted. There are even cultures that use Bibles that are translated from the TR, but they are not KJV clones. Imagine my surprise when I read the RV1960 and KJV side-by-side and found out that they are not exactly the same- many words differ. Yet thousands of churches have been planted in Mexico and other countries, missionaries have been sent, and lives have been changed through this supposedly inferior (according to some) translation.

When, oh, WHEN will we stop this foolishness of trying to set up another 'king' and instead bow to the superiority of the ONE King, God, and Savior, who uses inferior men with inferior Bible translations; inferior men whose hearts burn with a flaming love for their God and whose only passion is that others may know Him also- may God give us such men and women!

This seems to be something you are very fond of repeating as if you hope to trip a KJV only believer. All previous English versions use this same expression, "God forbid. Other MV have God Forbid elsewhere in the NT where the word: "God" is not in the Greek. Seems many on here have jumped on the Doug Kutilek fan club although this man has proven himself to be a bible agnostic.

As Will Kinney has often asked: "How can all these contradictory, multiple-choice versions ALL BE WRITTEN BY THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT?"

Do you really believe one is honoring God when one believes the "bible of the month" is of God? Where one believes its just fine and dandy to change words, doctrines and add and subtract liberally? Is it honoring God to accuse Him of failing to preserve His holy word? That there is no inspired bible anywhere?

I think its time for those who believe these things to get down off their high horse and ask God for forgiveness..

You are just making excuses for these modern inferior bibles.

So idiomatic translations are acceptable? Translations need not be 'word for word?'

    Matthew 4:4
“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

And Romans 6v2 is not word for word. Why is that idiom okay?

I wouldn't say anything is wrong with "God forbid." The point is that it's a "paraphrase" of the Greek here.
None of the translations, including the KJV, were written by the Holy Spirit.(that is the English words) To say any of them are is to teach that God has carried along the translators like the did the original writers of Scripture. In other words, double inspiration.

I am sure that I am honoring God by preaching His Word instead of worshiping it or using my time telling others about the so-called gospel of KJVOism.

I do not need to make excuses for any Bible translation. They all rise or fall on their own merit or lack thereof. I preached from the ESV today and conviction fell on some sinners and others made things right with God. For that I praise Him. It is His word, after all, not King James'.

There is not one doctrine that has been compromised. The "words" have had to change because we're speaking a different language than what was written thousands of years ago. Nothing has been subtracted. God has preserved His Word for us and it is in every single faithful Bible version we have today.

I believe that it's time for those who doubt that God has the power to STILL preserve His Word in the modern language to repent.

"Not one" is nothing new because I read some sources saying "no doctrine affected." Not True. From Genesis to Revelation must not contradict each other because God can't lie.

Modern versions showed that God contradicts Himself -- The doctrine affected on 2 verses: This is Jesus speaking:

My testimony is not true. (John 8:14)

    vs

My testimony is true. (John 5:31)

Is that clear? Remember that God is not the author of CONFUSION.

How can 5,000 manuscripts that disagreed each other BE WRITTEN BY THE SAME HOLY SPIRIT?

Ahhh - yes. It's quite apparent that the doctrine is affected and making God to be a liar when you post a phrase out of context. However, let's look at the verses:

    John 8:14 will be first:

KJV - Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.

NIV84 - Jesus answered, “Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going.

ESV - Jesus answered, "Even if I do bear witness about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.

NASB - Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.

Now for the other passage: John 5:31

KJV: If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

NIV84: “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not valid.

NASB: If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not true.

ESV: If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not deemed true.

OK - So what's the trouble?
