I'd be inclined to agree with him. Let's take mugshots of them with the headscarves on. Then the police will have the right to stop each and every woman with a headscarf and try and figure out if they are the fugitive they are looking for. He'd be real happy about that wouldn't he? :).

First of all, she was arrested. How is the department of corrections supposed to get a mugshot of someone when they are completely covered up? I could get arrested & make a case that I am supposed to wear sunglasses & a hat at all times. If she didn't want to be in that position then she shouldn't have broken the law. Its that simple.

I have also heard of a similar case, where an Islamic woman was instructed to remove her head scarf when she walked into a bank. Again, if she wishes to walk into a bank, then she should observe the rules. If she still insists on wearing her head dress, then she should consider using the drive thru service. The bank can't make her remove everything when she's in her own vehicle.

Part of living in the United States is being able to properly assimilate into American culture. If they can't handle it, then maybe they should stay at home.
