The Mrs and I were talking today about Heaven. The subject of smelling came up. We know that Grandma will not be cooking her favorite spaghetti sauce in the kitchen, and Mr. Greenjeans will not be tending to his flower in the Streets of Gold.
Will there be a need to smell in Heaven? What pleasant aroma will there be?
Not a facetious question - but very interesting.
Interesting question

I'm surely hoping that whatever is served at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will smell as good as it tastes.
Hey, that'll make for another thread. What will be on the menu?
Seriously, I'm thinking Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Life in the garden of Eden. Maybe we'll eating from it again. Could that be the source of our eternal life? Wasn't the reason Adam and Eve died was that they were denied access to it?
My best guess--and it's only a guess--is that we will have a sense of smell. -
Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But, whatever the details of the eternal state, we cannot even imagine.

"Believe it or not, visible light is only a very small fraction of all the light in the world." (could not insert jpg for some reason)
Maybe we'll be able to smell, hear, taste and feel in similar expanded ways. Smell colors? Taste smells? Hear light? -
Were Adam and Eve created with the ability to smell? Did Jesus smell the fish He was cooking post resurrection? I believe the answer to both of these is yes. -
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Friberg has a definition of "abundant" as that which exceeds expectation to the point of being unecessary.

Yes
Rev 8:3-4 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
If there's incense there's going to be an aroma! -
