We have a small number of troops in Afghanistan compared to the number in Iraq, Daisy. I was referring to two wars the size of Iraq or larger, and Iran would require a lot more than 150,000 troops.

Let's spend trillions of dollars to overthrow "evil" governments and then set up democracies so they can elect the terrorist leaders of their own choosing! There is no logic to present-day American "diplomacy". Last time I checked, we've killed more human beings in the form of abortion than Saddam ever killed, or are you saying that the life of unborn babies is less important than full-grown adults? The political hypocrisy of American Christians in general makes me want to puke!

According to CNN today, the top US General says they expect to be in there for at least another 4 years, and that they plan to maintain 100,000 troops there.

TS,
Actually, that is not what the general said at all. Here is what Yahoo News wrote about those statements from General Peter Schoomaker:
It is very likely that most or all objectives of the exit strategy will be met by the end of next year. But, if not, we will stay the course, we will be prepared, and if the nattering nabobs of political negativity will silence themselves long enough, we will win this war, unlike the way they demoralized our nation into submission during Vietnam.

Daisy,
Is Afghanistan minor? Remember it was an Afghan war that helped do in the former USSR.
You can't really be serious with the comparison between our war in Afghanistan and the Soviet occupation, can you? I'm not sure what the point of the comparison is, either.
