Is Gail Riplinger demon possessed?

Hey now, hold on:
She is totally and completely wrong; however, I wouldn't accuse her of demon possession. I am sure that this was written in jest, but be careful about what is said. Don't stoop to her level.

I grew up in Knoxville, TN. That, of course, is where Pastor David Reagan is located.Although I believe that he is totally and completely wrong (most notably paragraphs 1-4), Pastor Reagan is a good man and a fellow Believer. I grew up in the church where his parents attended (I loved them dearly), and his brother (who is older than I am) was one of the most Godly men I have ever had the pleasure to meet. [I never actually met Pastor Reagan.] Despite the fact that he is not using the 1611 Authorised Version as I do, he does indeed have a love for the Word of God, albeit a little misguided. I am not independent, I am not fundamental (according to his standards, I would be "progressive"), and I am certainly not KJVO. Therefore, according to the sign on the property there at Antioch Baptist, I would not be welcome in this church. But that's okay: FBC of Fountain City is down the road. So, we can agree to disagree.

The rhetoric had been unusually nasty for a while, and several people are no longer amongst us. Therefore, I have personally felt led to "tone it down" with respect to my comments. The simple fact is that nobody can provide any Scriptural Proof for the exclusion of all other English translations of God's Holy Word. As this is true, there is really little else I can write to augment that fact.

So, to answer your question, Craig: No, Gail Riplinger is not demon possessed. She is simply wrong.

I must agree with BiR. While we are all pretty much in agreement that GR is flat out wrong, there's no excuse for the mean spirit of the original question.

I believe there is sufficient evidence to say she is demonically influenced. Demon possession is beyond our ability to know unless we were very close to her personally.

She has been confronted concerning her false accusations, mischaracterizations, misquotes,... and downright slander against Christians. Yet she remains unrepentant. GAR knowingly and willfully creates dissension within the body of Christ. She claims to have received direct inspiration even going so far as to say that Jesus gave her "acrostic algebra" for use in condemning MV's.

She has taken the pulpit in supposed "fundamental" churches and preached false doctrine to congregations including adult men. I have a video of a "lecture" she did in Winston-Salem, NC.

Strange that these "fundamental" KJVO churches will allow a woman authority over a man. They are not so fundamental after all. Of coarse we all know that Ruckman has more than one wife, so I guess it's ok for a woman to teach from the pulpit since it's ok to have more than one wife and preach.

She most definately is a false prophet even more so than Ruckman. The "god and" claims go beyond our good ol boy down in Florida!

In all honesty, many KJVOist have been corrected and I have yet to see any of them shift gears. I think GAR is one of the most extreme liars in the KJVO Camp. One up for David Cloud in that he did try to correct her.

GAR also denies the Eternal Sonship of Jesus Christ. Her doctrine is way off on more than just the Bible versions.

I didn't post here yet as I thought the question too harshly worded. I fall somewhere between thinking GAR is demon possessed (I do not think that) and just "wrong." I think I would describe her as a false teacher. It's one thing for someone in the pew to have wrong ideas and quite another thing for someone with wrong or aberrant/heretical views to spread those ideas to believers through books, teaching, and/or preaching. That is when the body of Christ needs to speak up against those teachings.

I don't think false teachers or prophets need to be demon possessed or even demon influenced, though the latter seems a strong possibility with many false teachers.

David, where is her view of the eternal sonship of Jesus denied and other heretical views documented? Can you list the sources or give links? I would appreciate having those. Thanks.

I am not very involved with KJV only views and subcultures so am not quite up on this stuff.

I believe God is clearly referring to both a symbolic "begetting" and a literal one where Jesus, who is God, was begotten by His Father as a human baby. Don't ask me HOW he did it; I only know that WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.

People may say, "But if He's always existed, how could he have been begotten?" Simple. He was temporarily transformed from His glorious state to the state of a human, and this state DID have a beginning, hence His begetting into that state.

The symbolic begetting was when God raised Jesus from the dead.(Acts 13:33, Hebrews 1:5)

Riplinger either doesn't understand, or simply ignores these facts, set forth quite plainly in her KJV.

I give her the benefit of the doubt... something she denies the targets of her attacks... and say that she is demon influenced.

Why? Because her lies and false statements have been shown to her and she remains unrepentant. In fact, she has compounded her guilt by publishing more falsehoods. These false and divisive efforts divide the body of Christ, promote an un-Christlike spirit among her students, and undermine the Word of God.
