Nor does a sodomite have to be a homosexual. The two terms are not necessarily interchangable, although they can be.

    Dear Dr Ad Hominem

    Oh.

    I see.

Your lie about the trash can is exposed - so instead of fessing up, you pivot and change to the content of Tischendorf's later translation.

So you acknowledge that God used Christ-killing Jews to preserve His Word - or not? I think Paul said that very thing in Romans.

    Er, excuse me.

Mollenkott was not THE ONLY ONE involved - yet again you pivot and change the original subject.

So are you saying God used a Catholic to preserve His Word - or not?

    It can't be both, bubba.

    Oh, I see.

    The INVISIBLE one, right?

Much easier than acknowledging Erasmus that's for sure.

    So let's see:

A person HAS to be saved in order to be involved in preserving God's Word.

Yet you have unsaved Jews and unsaved Catholics doing it.

Noticing a little asymmetry to your logic here?

I have no need to honor your ad hominem; it only proves you're out of ammunition and lost the argument.

    Thanks for your admission.

    Mollenkott, WHO CARES!!!!!!!

Who cares about Mollenkott, The NIV [Bible attack deleted] Not worth fighting over.
Now could you find God’s word in the NIV yes, [Bible attack deleted]
The original question that again most are denying is.

IS THE KJV INFERIOR TO YOU?

To most on this forum, yes it is.

If you do not use the KJV exclusively it is inferior to you.

Think about it. it will not take a PHD. :praying:

It is not inferior, it is of equal value with other fine translations. Don't take a ThD to figure that one out either :)

The only reason that some are seeing the KJV as being viewed as inferior is because it is not used exclusively.

Oh, I guess you must be referring to the 85% or so of the world that does not speak or read English. Yes, to them the KJV WOULD be quite inferior.

    To KJVO's

It never ceases to amaze me that KJVO folks will go to such extreme lengths to try to convince others of the correctness of their position .

It was already pointed out that most of the world doesn't speak or write English .This majority is not even familiar with contemporary English much less an artificially-enhanced 17th century form of the language .

KJVO's think they are defending the faith -- hoping that the bulwarks hold . Of course trying to convince modern Christians around the world to pay attention to their unbiblical ,irrational claims will not succeed . As each year passes the KJV ( most likely the 1789 form ) will sink into a quaint memory for most . But the Faith is not dying -- just an antique translation of the distant past . The Weymouth , MLB and even the NIV are dated in their various renderings . Languages do not stand still . Revisions and new translation will of necessity have to take place . But that is a good thing -- not an evil happening .

God is sovereign over all people and all things . He will not let His Word perish . But that Word is not only in the linguistic form of the KJV . He is in charge . You don't have to be concerned . It is not up to a minority of Christians ( mainly of the North American variety ) to manfully rescue Christianity by saving an archaic Bible revision .

You KJV Only folks are spinning your wheels . Put your time to more productive uses . Master the contents of your beloved translation . Then , apply the teachings to your lives .

Your antiquarian interests are clouding your spiritual eyes . You have lost needed discernment . It's quite shameful . The KJV revisors would most likely be opposing your efforts were they to see what you are wasting your time on .

Limited access to internet in WV??? Say it ain't so!!!! (don't hit me, Tinytim!)

If it will make it easier, we'll do a sign-up sheet for misbehavior...
    • Bible attacks will be on Mondays & Wednesdays.
    • Ad hominems will be on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
    • Fridays are "flame the Calvinist" or "shishkabob the Arminian" days.
    • Saturdays will be reserved for questioning salvations.
    • Sundays are for alcohol arguments.
    • We'll fit in music arguments, as well as David Cloud and Rick Warren attacks as time allows.
Where shall I email Reprobate Roster, aka Squabble Schedule?

(ya'll know I'm kidding, but it does seem there's been more squabbling to me lately).

I see that you did manage to find at least a little internet access, even in the heart of Appalachia.

Maybe if it becomes more difficult to access, you might get another Administrator or Moderator to "fill in" by "deleting out" for you, in your absence. Or maybe tinytim will let you borrow his computer for a short bit. :)

    MIS -INformation, AGAIN

Would someone pleeeeese do there home work, when you repeat miss- information. English is used predominately throughout the world.

    " OOPS!
One out of every five people on earth can speak English to some level of competence". Englishenglish.com
Q: How many people speak English in the world?
A: English is one of the most widely used languages in the world. Recent estimates suggest that over 337 million people speak English as their first language, with possibly some 350 million speaking it as a second language. America has the largest number of English speakers - over 226 million speak the language as a mother tongue. English is an official language in India, alongside Hindi, and some 3,000 English newspapers are published throughout the country. English is also the favoured language of the world’s major airlines and international commerce. Over 80 per cent of the world’s electronically stored information is in English and two-thirds of the world’s scientists read in English. English is an official language, or has a special status in over 75 of the world’s territories.
If the rest of the world isn’t talking English, they’re borrowing English words to add to their own language: the Japanese go on a ‘pikunikku’ (picnic), Italians program their computers with ‘il software’, Germans talk about ‘ein Image Problem’ and ‘das Cashflow’ and Czechs say ‘ahoy!’ for ‘hello.’

Translations are made for a certain people, that speak a certain language, at a certain time.

Unless you were raised reading the KJV or are a KJVO believer, you probably will find the KJV is an inferior translation, because it was translated for a different people (the English), in a different styled language (Elizabethan English), in a different time (1600's).

I personally think that the KJV is a superior translation for me because I was raised as a KJVO and have read the KJV exclusively- it was all I ever knew (or even considered as a valid Bible for many years). So now, even though I've realized that the position of onlyism was wrong, I still feel more comfortable reading the KJV.

But for many Americans, the KJV is outdated and many people have a hard time connecting to something so foreign.

    elizabethan or Bible english

The Bible was not written in
This is another miss information spouted by those who try to push modern versions. This is a lie. The Bible was written in a special preserved majestic God ordained English. The people of England did not speak Elizabethan so called Bible English. No one has ever spoken like the Bible English. Some have written works like the Bible.
Read the introduction by the translators. This is the English that was spoken and it is not like the Bible.

This is also the Bible took England from poverty to power. Changed men from ignorant to intelligent and now we can't understand it. It is not that we could not understand it. We do not want that Book.

No one criticizes Spurgeon’s sermons. Read “lectures to my students” This is hard reading.

It is not that men do not understand the KJB; they do not want that Book. We are in a great falling away from the truth.
    2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Men have put down the Truth the KJB.

What truth has been laid down? The Jesus of the other versions is not the same Jesus of the KJB.
The Jesus of the other Versions let’s you have contemporary Christian music, and the pastors children play devils music, and have worldly bands. And know the church looks and smells like the world.

But this is supposed to happen, don't be alarmed "this is the beginning of sorrows"

    Ehud.
