Considering it's a case of bigotry, his sentence was light. He isn't serving any jail time, which would be a bit excessive. However, bigots need to shown that such behavior will NOT be tolerated.

No, the punishment is not too severe. I don't think it's severe at all, actually, especially considering he's a city employee.

I'm just wondering what would have happened if he had written "pagans only" or "blacks only" on the sign instead. He probably wouldn't have even recieved a slap on the wrist.

I've seen worse from both sides. Given the testimonies about the chap, I would say the law is stupid!

    Cheers,

Black people are constantly hollering "discrimination" when things don't go their way, but I worked in a place where there was reverse discrimination against whites. All the supervisors were black and not because they were the better choice. The black workers could get away with anything--including not working, while the white workers were accused of goofing off, not working fast enough, and not getting enough work done. The supervisors were always sneaking around trying to catch the white workers not working, while they would sit for hours talking with teh black workers who were also just sitting. The black people could easily get any time off they wanted, while the white people were often refused time off due to "shortage of workers".
