Well, not being celibate is certainly no barrier for these Baptist preachers that's for sure. It is clear that rampant perversion is also alive and well amongst Baptist preachers of the Holy Word. Do you want more examples?
I am sure that I can google some up for you.
So according to you and your idea of common sense, Baptist preachers should be amongst the least perpetrators of sexual sinfulness, right? But it is clear by the story that I pointed out that this is not so. Goof grief, right here in Dade City Florida we had a Baptist preacher arrested for homosexual activity with a minor.
No. Celibacy is a major contributor to homosexuality among catholic priests. It is not the only factor. People can be perverts without vows of celibacy. You are making faulty leaps in logic.
Prison is a perfect example and prime evidence. Heterosexual males will engage in homosexual behavior in that forced celibate situation.
As you Baptists do, or is raping teen agers somehow more acceptable to you since it is heterosexual behavior? Yes, we should not keep score as you folks probably have a higher rate of sexual sins than we do.
Look, since we are in these bodies, sin is just around the corner for everyone of us whether in thought or deed. Remember, Jesus says you commit a sin when you fanaticize about that pretty woman who just walked by you.
I have news for you, we have also had our share of heterosexual dalliances amongst our religious. Some people are just homosexuals and others are not. You Baptists have no higher claim to holiness than anyone else, so stop the moralizing and accept YOUR realities regarding this issue.
There are statistics and I am sorrowful for sin anywhere but rather than defend those sick priest perverts in the RCC you get angry not for the sin but at someone who points it out and warns parents and their children against the perversion caused by enforced celibacy.
Perversion especially in monasteries and convents where it is rampant.
You should be in prayer and fasting for the corruption of your church rather than defending it by pointing at the sin of others thereby excusing it in your mind.
Believe it or not lust can be controlled and brought into dominance by yielding to the Holy Spirit so that these "fantasies" you claim that I have for pretty women walking by me are met by the Spirit of Christ.
Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
AOBTW You are not my confessor or the Spirit of Christ so you cannot know my heart.
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
You simply have no evidence that celibacy is the cause of the sexual sins of RC priests. The celibate life is not enforced on anyone, it is accepted by people who wish to enter the ministry of their own free will. If celibacy was the cause of sexual perversion, then it would happen only at places where celibacy exists and we know that is not the case as sins of the flesh happens in every faith tradition.
I will always defend my faith tradition and at the same time I will accept the sinfulness of some of it's members. Such sins cannot be defended in any way, they must be condemned wholeheartedly. Likewise, I have had the great fortune to known some wonderful holy priests and nuns who strive to live their lives fully and completely in the arms of Christ. The sexual sinners are an aberration, not the norm.
We actually now have many married clergymen, most of them are converts from Anglicanism and some of the other protestant faith traditions
I see, so you have never committed that particular sin? Well that is wonderful, as I have not been as fortunate as you. I would guess that most normal heterosexual men are prone to stumble on this particular violation of God's teaching.
And the productive conversation is what, how we can further attack the Catholic Church and those in it's ministry? That's it in a nut shell of what even posting this particular thread is all about.
The productive conversation is discussing the problem in the Roman Catholic church without deflection. If you want to discuss baptist perverts, start a thread discussing Baptist perverts.(there are actually quite a few already open)
Please be specific. I fail to see where I have accused you of sinfulness in the post of mine you just quoted or have put words in your mouth. In point of fact I said the following: "I see, so you have never committed that particular sin? Well that is wonderful, as I have not been as fortunate as you".
My first point about the sin of "lust" was general in nature, referring to the propensity of most men to engage in this as according to Jesus, just thinking it is sinful.
I should have used the word "one" as in "when one sins" instead of the word "you sin". My mistake, my apologies to you.
Thank you and I did not use the word "never". After I was married I did not have a problem for several years. Temptation yes. The temptation became more insistent and my troubles began. So I developed hobbies, mostly outdoors, Fishing, gun enthusiast, my wife and I went to the Firing range together.
Hobbies call upon energy reserves which help to stay focused on non sensual things. Something of which many men are unaware. Prayer and fasting are also very good to stay above the animal instincts.
