Would this be an ok place to discuss this? Dr. Mcgee has tremendously blessed me with his ministry. He seems to have been presbyterian, but of all I've heard from his mouth he seems to be sure enough baptist. What do you all think? My favorite sermon of his is "portrait of Christ". It's in 3 parts and here is a link to the first. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

Always loved to hear him.
IMHO, he had a terrible radio voice, but after listening to him for 5 minutes or less, the message totally over-rode my objection to his voice.
Love his bible commentary as well! Got it on computer and bookshelf. -
I used to listen to him a lot myself. Great preacher.
I was surprised when I saw he was Presbyterian, because I know for a fact he was not a Calvinist, I have heard him preach against it. He believed in free will all the way.

Don't always agree with everything. Get frustrated sometimes, but LOVE him and his preaching.

If you really want to understand the book of Revelation, listen to J. Vernon McGee online, he does an outstanding job.

As far as I know, his "Through the Bible" program is the only one that goes through every book in the Bible.
My only complaint is that the only time his broadcast airs in my area is at 6:00 a.m., which is kinda too early for yours truly to comprehend much of what he preaches. -
His entire series is downloadable. I often listen when starting a new preaching series or get the daily broadcast at your convenience here

McGee was a a Presbyterian in name only. He apparently went against his vows. A Presbyterian minister is supposed to adhere to the Westminster Standards in order to be licensed to preach. He opposed them regularly. Billy Sunday and J. Wilbur Chapman among others, also disregarded their vows. -

McGee was PCUS which became PCUSA. No surprise he had no Reformed leanings
