Curious to have some here expound on this scripture verse as it relates to true followers of Jesus Christ verses professing ministers of the Gospel of Christ.
My concern is that we are surrounded by many wolves in sheeps clothing that profess Christ as Savior, but do not yield to Him as the Lord of all.
Will followers of Jesus Christ be hated for Christ's sake, or will we be just one of the guys who can play 18 holes and crack jokes with the best of them? Do we truly win people to Christ because we compromise our Sunday morning sermons in order to fill the pews.
Anticipate your responses.
John 16:3 and 15:19

There have always those who professed but were not true believers. Judas was one. Simon the sorcerer and Diotrephes were such. As pastors and spiritual leaders we must be careful to keep the biblical standard high (as high as the Word of God) and not let promotion, a desire for growth or simple compromise affect our commitment to the truth. John says, "They went out from us, but they were not of us...." In the context of John 15 the idea is clearly conveyed of a commitment to biblical principles such as "abiding." The result will be [biblical] fruit, more fruit, much fruit. The closer we get to Jesus Christ, the more our lives will contrast the darkness.

Thanks brother, it is good to see that people still seek the truth. We must abandon ourselves and seek Christ and Christ only.
Amen!
