There may be other differences, but the main one is this:
Dispy Pre-Mils hold to a pre-tribulation rapture of the saints, the church removed from earth, returning to earth with Christ seven years later.
Historical Pre-Mils hold to a single return of Christ, at the end of the tribulation.
I think the way you wrote the above is accurate but a bit confusing.
Both hold to the church being removed from the earth (after the 7 years of tribulation) and returning to Earth with Christ for His 1000 year (Millennial reign). The difference is the timing of the rapture, Pre or Post of the tribulation period.
Uh.. no.
Being a Dispensationalist.. I never heard of anything of the like.
The church will be HERE, on the earth reigning with Christ.
But yes. Historic PreMil and Dispy PreMil hold there is a distinction between the Church and Israel in the Millennial Kingdom in that *Israel will have some special significance in the millennium.
That above statement come from the "The Millennium, Four Viewpoints" by Gearoge Eldon Ladd, a covenant premillennialist, and edited by Robert Clouse.
Israel isn't more important than the church nor does it take priority over the church in the Millennial reign, but it still has a place of special significance in the millennium as prophesy toward them is fulfilled.
Yes - also, in historic premil the Rapture is not "secret", and it involves the saints of that day rising to meet the Lord in the air, but returning to earth with Him immediatley.
There is no permanent/long-term removal of the church nor is the millinium a Jewish/Mosaic dispensation.
No. Historical Premillennialism holds to Covenant Theology, and does not see the distinction between the church and Israel. That is also the defining difference.
He's not the only historic Premil who holds this view and in fact.. I can't find many of that group who don't but that the majority hold to that distinction. The key to this aspect is what is meant by 'distinction'.
Remember, it is not that Israel has priority or prominence but that the nation of still has significance during the Millennial reign.
basically, the idea is that God has 2 plans in place for the "end times"
Church Body/bride of Christ will have been raptured into heaven, and they will be in heaven at that point on in "new Jerusalem"
While on earth during tribulation time, God deals again with National Isreal, and they will have the promised Kingdom set up for them when jesus returns to earth...
So saints with glorifed bodies in heaven, while those alive on earth enter into the Millinual Age on earth, with isreal chief nation as their King/Messiah jesus reigning in "earthly" jerusalem than!
