It would be interesting to see how this line of argumentation works out. There is a significant amount of historical criticism that can be leveled, and rightly so, at the process by which our leaders have established SSM as the "law of the land." Almost unlike any other social movement in recent memory, SSM came to be through a process of legal wrangling and not through the legislative or referendum based affirmation. Even much of the civil rights movement from the middle part of last century came about through legislation that was then reinforced by the judicial process. For SSM the whole process has been different.
That said, I stand by my position that she should uphold the laws she has sworn the protect. Her oath of office is a principal issue here too. Maybe I'll start a thread on that.
(I offer this entire post in an amicable voice hope to promulgate conversation and not be condemning in tone.) :) -
