What is the number located underneath the name of the publisher (Nelson) on the spine of a KJV Bible I found in my dad's stuff? The number is 686 and it is a reference edition published in 1972 I believe.

    Thanks in Advance!!!

These old Nelson Reference Bibles are classics that were printed well into the 1980s

What does the number mean? Tried researching it on the internet but am not coming up with anything helpful (I may just be computer handicap) It was my dads before he died and I am thinking of making it a family Bible and use it as my main translation but I am not to familiar with any of the KJV being as I grew up on the NIV and have used the ESV and HCSB since then.

    Thanks and God Bless

Did you click the link? It's a version number. That's all, nothing more.

Not a version number, but an edition number.
