Hardly a joke.
My aunt was a Baptist missionary that became Catholic after serious study of the bible and the Catechism.
You might not agree with their interpretation of scripture but y'all can't even agree with each other.
Thread after thread focusing on Catholicism turns into Baptist arguing with each others interpretation of scripture.
It is good to know there is a church unified in a total misunderstanding of the Gospel, a real positive to the preservation of the New Testement Church.
And its a good thing that we argue. Its a healty thing. Sort of a "checks and balances" thing. very healthy.
On the other hand, with catholcism, you have the worst thing imaginable...
Its all handled by the "insiders". The "cloistered ones". No accounability. No checks and balances.
The lowly masses are told "just trust us". Just do the rituals. Stay in your place. Worship the Mary goddess. Dont rock the boat. TRUST US.
While the sexual abuse continues. The herisies and blasphemies continue. The goddess worship continues. The dead lifeless liturgies continue, century after century after century.. etc etc etc
You sound like an Ex-Catholic that never learned a thing about the faith!
Bet I'm right, eh?
The sexual abuses continue in Baptist circles too!
And please don't try to tell me it is not covered up!
I belonged to a church where it was covered up and then the elder's lied about it only to turn around and 'repent' when they got caught.
They also went on and on about 'dem poor Cat'lics'.
You know the Catholic Church never tells anyone to 'worship Mary', in fact Catholics are forbidden to worship Mary or the saints so please stop posting such nonsense.
The liturgy is hardly 'lifeless' in the Catholic Church I worship in and I never worship anything or anyone but the Lord Jesus.
I know who and what I worship and have never been closer to Jesus than I am now in the Catholic Church.
So much for your thoughts!
BTW, you really think the way you Baptists 'argue' on this board is healthy?
Really?
You think it furthers the cause of Christ?
You question each others salvation, call each others liars, heretics, blasphemers and worse.
All for the cause of the Gospel!
Really?
There is plenty of dissension and disagreement in the RCC. I once read that one way it is handled is in the founding of the many different religious orders.
Also, there is the usual liberal-conservative split, and disagreements over social and ethical issues, as well.
When I was growing up and in school, we were served fish on fridays because of the Catholics who were not allowed to eat meat on that day.
Then somewhere along the line the Pope decided it was not a sin anymore to eat meat on friday and lo and behold, we were served burgers.
There have been several such changes of mind by the various Popes.
Seems they cannot agree with one another either.
