So universal background checks and registering guns is not an infringement on a constitutional right but asking someone to show ID when they vote is?

If an ID can't be required to register a vote, how can it be required to:
obtain medical care?
get a driver's license?
buy beer and cigarettes?
travel?
cash a check?
apply for welfare?
etc. & etc. ?

Those activities are not constitutional rights. And it is an infringement to register guns.

And it is NOT a constitutional right to vote unless you are at least 18 years old.
And how do you prove you are at least 18 ---- hmmm, say, how about picture ID!.
Also there are other restrictions to voting - must register, up to 30 days in advance.
Note: citizens under 18 could vote if permitted in their State or Commonwealth.

Doesn't need to be a picture ID. Student ID or SSN# works in most states.
Not in every state. Here in Minnesota you can register on election day, a big reason we lead the nation in voter participation rates.

Lets cut to the chase - why are you so opposed to showing proof of who you are?
voting is a sacred RIGHT and should be taken very seriously - ie illegal voters - not even 1 - should be tolerated.

It's just another example of intrusion of government into our privacy. Why should I be required to show an ID to exercise my constitutional right? Voter fraud is practically non-existent, why complicate a basic right?
Why are you so seemingly in favor of the state compelling you to prove your identity?

That lie has been debunked on this board time and again.

Well, at least I'm glad, you don't think that citizens need to show ID to buy a firearm.
Here is just one example - in just one city
if you need more - just goggle voter fraud.
Hmm, I wonder why we don't here more of it?
Because voting is a sacred right and I do not want to see the importance diminished.
I am proud to show my military ID when I vote!!!

Don't worry. Once Marxism is established, only party members will be allowed to vote, and you bet ID will be required.

Please read that article and point out which one of the cases would have been prevented with a photo ID. There are 10 cases listed and I can only see two that would possibly have been thwarted with photo IDs, Brian Uecker and Fozia Nawaz. These two people voted in a different ward than the one they lived in but they didn't vote twice. In fact, one of the voters who did vote twice, Chad Gigowski, used his photo ID to vote!
Signing your name on a recall petition is not the same thing as voting. Applying for a job as an election judge and lying on your job application is not voter fraud.
I have Googled voter fraud, many times. The results that are returned are almost always people that attempted to register to vote and were caught or instances where there were dead people still on the voting rolls, or felons that were on the voting rolls. But people that actually committed voter fraud BY VOTING, whether voting twice, or dead people that somehow voted, or illegal immigrants that voted simply does not happen very often.

The arguments against vote ID laws make zero sense to me. I've heard them and they never make any sense.
