March for Life 2019: Vice President Pence makes surprise visit at DC rally
March for Life stronger than ever in 46th yearThousands of anti-abortion activists, including many young people bundled up against the cold weather gripping the nation's capital, gathered at a stage on the National Mall Friday for their annual march in the long-contentious debate over abortion.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of marchers descend upon the national’s capital near the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide in 1973, to make their voices heard on behalf of those who can’t yet speak. Though official attendance numbers are hard to come by, the march has undoubtedly grown throughout the years, with the highest estimated total reaching 650,000 in 2013.
