Many believe that. But I am persuaded that is factually not true. According to Mark 14:12, Exodus 12:18, the 14th must be understood as being the day before Christ was crucified.

But, I have always said that
TWO DIFFERENT "SABBATHS" HAD TAKEN PLACE,
DURING THAT SAME WEEK JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED.

    AN ANNUAL "SABBATH" ON THURSDAY
AND THE REGULAR WEEKLY "SABBATH" ON SATURDAY.

I need to see you interprete John 19:31, because I don't believe
that I have ever seen what you do with "that sabbath day was an high day".

SINCE "that sabbath day was an high day" HAS ALWAYS BEEN
THE ESSENTIAL KEY TO UNLOCKING THE MYSTERY OF THE ENTIRE WEEK.

"The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation,
that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day,
(for that sabbath day was an high day,)
besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,
and that they might be taken away."

Jesus WAS crucified on the 14th
and YET, those two verses are BOTH still on the 14th, too.

Those verses are referring to the 14th in the evening OF THE PASSOVER MEAL

and yet, in THE DAYLIGHT of THE MORNING it WAS STILL THE 14TH
And also THE PREPARATION DAY which was THE DAY JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED.

THEN IT WAS STILL THE 14TH, AND STILL THEIR WEDNESDAY,
AFTER THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT PASSOVER MEAL
That IT WAS AFTER THAT ENTIRE NIGHT then DURING THE DAYTIME,
IN THE DAYLIGHT OF THE FOLLOWING MORNING
AS THAT DAY BEGINS AND YET IT IS ONLY THE CONTINUATION
OF THE SAME DAY OF THE WEEK
THAT THEY ARE STILL CALLING WEDNESDAY THE 14TH,
AND IS EXACTLY WHEN THE BIBLE IS TELLING US
THE DAY OF THE WEEK ON WHICH JESUS WAS CRUCIFIED.

John 19:31 is the parallel passage to Mark 15:42.
. . . And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, . . .
. . . The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. . . .
    Three things.
    1) The Jewish days begin with sundown.
    2) The Sabbath Preparation day begins sundown Thursday evening.
    3) I understand the seventh day Sabbath during that feast is that high Sabbath.
