The judgment seat of Christ is not the 'Grecian games'. But if you treat the jsoc as a game, then your Christian walk will be a game.

Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. -

I now start Baptist Churches on the Mission Field,
And I will continue to. -
And did you lead them astray also as you are trying to do here with this Mercy Eliminated gospel you teach?
Or did they wise up and send you on your way? -
Actually, I do think we can use the ancient Olympic games as a type, since the Bible uses it.
Guess what happened to those who were found to have broken the rules?
They were cast out. They were forced to leave in shame. Some were fined. I found one instance in which a person was whipped, so severe was his offense.
But, the most important thing is that not everyone received a crown.
But they're all citizens. -

Your accusation of my not caring what the Bible says is far from the truth.
Of course, with all of the false doctrines I have seen from the Mercy Eliminated crowd, I have come to expect as much. -
Just because Larkin taught it does not make it right. It just means that you have found something which makes you comfortable in your Christianity. Yet we find your hero Paul teaching this:
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Nothing comfortable there my friend. Your BIGGEST complaint against this doctrine is that it makes you UNcomfortable. And it goes against the "soothing words" you have been accustomed to hearing, yet, we find Jesus knocking the comfort zone right out from under they who were religious and had a zeal for God yet not according to knowledge.
You, sir, and your friends here, fit just such a description. You are COMFORTABLE and the idea of Accountability and the real threat of losing your POSITION in the coming Kingdom of Christ gets under your skin.
ALL that will live Godly in Christ Jesus SHALL suffer persecution.
When was the last time you were called a heretic for what you believe Scripture to teach?
You folks screaming "HERETIC" and stopping up your ears ought to look long and hard into the mirror of history and Scripture for there you will find the Catholics and the Jews doing the SAME thing to Christians for centuries as that YOU are doing here on this board.
Good night. Sweet dreams, and May God open your eyes. -
Unbelievable!
And then to talk about comfort zones! Hah!
Sorry you have had to suffer such great persecution on the BB! -
NONE of the cults are "based"on the KJV. They are ALL "based" upon false doctrines. The KJV contains NO false doctrines. It is utter error and even nigh unto evil to lay the source for those cults at the feet of God's Holy Words. It is NOT the fault of the KJV that these cults arose as you imply.
I realize that you also said 'false doctrines' and had you stopped there you would have been correct, but you also included cults and it is the use of that word about which I must correct you. You DO know that many cults are not even remotely linked to the Bible, right?
Just a friendly correction.
BTW: Evolution arose before the modern versions appeared also and has produced a somewhat cultic following. Would you lay the blame for THAT evil at the feet of the KJV also? -
jim,
Your accusations of me being cultish are far from the truth. Your many false doctrines prove who it is that is cultish. -

Go back and study the Word instead of Joey Faust and other False Prophets.
And by the way... God has opened my eyes. May He find mercy and open yours. -

Denominationally I am a BAPTIST!

In answer to the title question of this thread...
Because the Mercy Eliminated crowd says so?
Actually, I know their accusations of Christians spending 1,000 years in outer darkness or hell is a lie, so forget the question I asked in this post. -
2. If you read the rest of what I had to say about the KJV, you will not accuse me of ascribing erroneous teachings to the KJV.
3. All I'm simply saying is this, the KJV is the bible that they had in their hands. While using that bible, they came to their conclusions.
4. It was their mishandling of the KJV bible.
5. Do a search if you desire on my comments on the KJV and you will find that I have nothing hateful to say about the KJV. All I'm saying is that it must be viewed in its proper historical context.
