I first posted this on Veterans' Day last year:
Although Memorial Day is a day to remember all of our loved ones who have passed on, I'd appreciate a brief remembrance of these great people if you happen to think about them today. God bless. In my 20 years in, I flew combat helicopters. I was in Vietnam, flew the fence line between East and West Germany during the coldest part of the Cold War, I went to Grenada, the Suez Canal when Iran threatened to close it, Panama, and Desert Storm, after which I retired. During those years, I came to know a lot of wonderful people. Today, I don't want you to remember my service. I want you to remember those who served honorably, valiantly, and ultimately paid the full price for their service.
