I have no inherit faith in myself, The Lord granted that to me as part of his slavation package!
He elected me beforehand, sent me His HS to convict reprove open my heart and mind He granted me the gifts of repentance and faith to possess eternal life in Christ!
So then you folks concur with the view of the Roman Catholic Church, which insists that the will of man is the decisive factor in salvation.....OK, I see.
Actually, just looking for the calvinist explanation
of "by faith" or "faith in," as well as the poor flashlight analogy initiated by Aaron. Then we can discuss the catholic errors.
ANY who get saved are elected out by God/chosen in Jesus....
God appointed them to receive jesus in order to get saved, as in book of Acts under preaching of Apostle Peter!
God choses to save me, grants me the faith and the message of the Gospel, works so I receive jesus and confirm that His election was effective and sure!
I've read Romans 9 so how is Pauls concern for his brother Jews have anything to do with gentiles and there election. Are you saying that you are a descendent from Jacob ?

John 10 is about sheep and hearing and following the Lord. It doesn't prove you are elect in fact it doesn't say a thing about election. Are you claiming you are elect because you can hear? Everyone can hear if they are willing to listen.

According to the correct biblical understanding of 'elect,' yes.
But, not according to the way Calvinists define it, no, but why would I do that since I reject the premise that God individually preselects certain individuals?
Please consider; this election can also be considered analogous to being elected to a political position; i.e., you're not elected until actually elected. Thus, the believer, upon salvation, becomes "elect."
And thus, the mystery identified regarding Aaron's flashlight analogy: God chose to save you. Why didn't He choose to save the guy next to you?
