Probably the worst saying EVER on a Church sign, spotted at a local UMC
Jesus is my prozac.
Pitiful, just pitiful. -
To me, you just can't beat the Scripture. I like to put either a verse of Scripture or the actual sermon title for the upcoming week. On a rare occasion I will put an upcoming event. Personally I don't like these little sayings ... to me, they are gimmicky and take the church down a level.

And to think God was trying to give them an objective lesson...
Some of us have harder heads than others...

Within the last couple of months, out pastor put up two simple words on the church marquee.
"Stay married"
I didn't think a whole lot of it as far as efficacy is concerned until he told us recently that on two separate days, two complete strangers came in to the church office and said that God convicted them about giving up so easily on their marriages with that simple sign.
They had prayer with the pastor and went on their way.
You never know...

"Pray hard in a storm,
But keep rowing!" -
Here's one I saw in the next town over...that's been there almost a month:
"For all you do, His bloods for you."
I don't like it - likening the precious blood of Jesus to a beer jingle. I wish they'd take it down. -
yeah that is bad.

I believe that you can be light-hearted with a church sign, but never flippant or worldly.
