Really?
Unless you have proof, you have just borne false witness.
Sayin' it ain't proof, neither. [sic]
Nice job, EG.

I will not call you a liar as you have called me. Not only is that against the rules of the board - that is just beneath what good people should do, and especially, IMHO, what Christians should do.
He has publicly stated the obvious - he is self medicating. He is going off of his Doctor's prescribed dosages and medicating himself. It will not kill him, but it will give him better 'control' of what he is trying to say.
I do not need, nor want, to stoop to your level. -

MJF is using his popularity for personal gain. Increasing stem cell research increases his chances of survival and his quality of life.
It happens that one party is more supportive of his personal goals than another and so he supports that party. Isn't that how democracy works? -
Great post . . .
. . . and while I do not personally agree with his stance - he is clearly practicing what he believes.
FTR . . . those that have said that he does not have the disease and that all of his actions are merely an act - are disgusting comedians profiteering just as much as he is off of the 1st amendment. IMHO. -

Do you know what his doctors told him concerning his meds?
Yet you feel qualified to state what the specifiic effects are and are not. That's not exactly a lie, but it sure ain't truthful. -
Daisy,
You insinuate lies all the time . . . Should I trust you?
For the record, from what Fox and the media reported: Fox was changing his medication routine for interviews.
Yes, I know there is a remote possibility that he went to a doctor and the doctor told him to do that. But, that is not the manner in which it was reported. The discussion late night news had the other night was about his decision to change his dosages.
Is it smart to do that . . . honestly, that depends upon how far progressed his particular state of the illness is.
Is it disingenuous? Maybe. Definitely more disingenuous than what I post on the threads. Yet, you talk about how you are prejudiced against me . . . and you are for Fox.
Just remember, the only opinion that matters in eternity - is the opinion of God. -
Trust whomever you please - it's no business of mine.
-
Do you believe that he is disingenuous? Yes, no, maybe.
Personally, I think maybe. And at his advanced stage that may be his choice of the choice of some of his caregivers.
Do I believe that he is faking - no - said that already.
Has he stated that he is changing his dosages - I believe you were one of those that pointed out the obvious - I do not disagree there.
Should my, or your integrity, be the argument when discussing his POV? Does your or my integrity affect his integrity? Probably not.
So, do you believe that he is disingenuous? Yes, no, maybe. -
I don't know very much about stem cell research but I have no problem with Michael J. Fox campaigning for whatever he chooses. He didn't lose his freedom of speech when he became an actor or disabled. Not wild about the viewpoints of many in Hollywood, such as Streisand, but it's their right, which people have died to protect.

Great to see ya' back.

I don't have any problem with him campaigning or even manipulating his meds to make a point. If I wanted someone to see how bad a migraine was, I could go off mine. If it would help migraine research, I'd probably be willing to do it occassionaly.
-
Would you be willing to give us a warning before you would try that?

The medicine manipulation doesn't make him dishonest. -
You are right Curtis. If I was going to go on the political stump, I would want to know what I was talking about to the point where I would be an expert on it. No one wants to look like Tom Cruise talking about psychology.
BUT I do want to comment a bit more on the meds. I don't know anything about Parkinson's meds, but I've got to think there are some corallaries. Migraine meds are powerful things -- besides the ones designed to help halt a migraine, to control migraines one might take heart meds, anti-depressants, anti-seisure meds, and a slew of others. These are powerful-powerful drugs. Manipulating them for any reason really could be dangerous. AND lucky me, even taking them, I still get migraines just not as many. We can still tell that MJFox has Parkinsons - maybe just not the severity.
SO, even though I said I might go off the meds below, I don't really think I'd do it. I'd be happy to go on the stump and talk about it though. -
Are we gonna get a stumpin' female politican from NC? Now that would be sumpthin'!
:1_grouphug:
Just please stay on the meds . . . I would hate for you to have a migraine just to get votes.

Also, I'm glad somebody didn't convince me to go off chemotherapy to demonstrate the ravages of my lymphoma. That would have been dumb. -
