Worth It
Mike - Rufus,
Wonderful articles, guys! Keep up the great work. I found a great web-site you may like - kjv-asia.com. It has the works of Dr Dennis Lloyd in New Zealand. He has a great bi-monthly paper called "The Stand." In the latest copy (Feb/Mar 07) was an article by a Pastor Williams titled "The NIV Infection." He's a Baptist pastor now, but didn't begin his ministry as one. Although time & space don't permit covering the article in its entirety, the opening paragraph is very relevant:
"This work of exposing the new versions comes from a conviction I established in the late 70's while I was still a member of the United Methodist Conference. In 1979, I was sent to Athens, Tennessee to complete a conference course to obtain a local pastor's license. Many of the young preachers, if not all, had brought our KJV Bibles with us. One of the leading conference speakers told us to get rid of those old, outdated King James Bibles and to get something updated. During a break in our classes, I entered a small Bible bookstore and I purchased two books that God used in my life. One book was by Dr John R. Rice on the lodge. God used that booklet to open my eyes to the dangers of the lodge, and in 1980, I demitted from the lodge. The other book was titled, "God Only Wrote One Bible," by Jasper James Ray. This brother pointed out how Westcott and Hort used a [violation of rules cannot be tolerated- even if the material is quoted] Greek text to translate the Revised Version. One night after I came home, I had my wife bring her New American Standard Bible. I couldn't believe that whole verses were left out and changed. Nearly 200 omissions and changes in the NASV shocked both my wife and myself. God used that to give me a conviction that our beloved KJV is the very word of God. As the years progressed, I believe evermore that [You can't attack Bibles, even in quoted material]. The once great soul-winning denominations have been reduced to social clubs by means of modernist translations that question every important doctrine needed to get to heaven. God gave me those convictions many years before I ever heard the name Peter Ruckman. Many today want to label every King James Bible man to be in some sort of far out circle or fellowship. This work on the NIV is a work of faith and labor of love. I want every believer to be equipped for the ever present battle and to have victory over Satan. Oh, that God might use this material to aid God's people to victory in their lives. This is my goal & desire." Pastor Dewey Williams.
He then details the [attack on a Bible deleted] NIV to the tune of about 25 pages. As mentioned earlier, there's an army of people that are waking up to this issue and are rearming themselves with the right ammunition to do the job!
"The value of the partisan is not in the amount of men and equipment he destroys, but in how many he keeps watching." Col John S. Moseby, CSA

I saw NO DEFENSE from the KJVOs against what Franklin Monroe hadta say about the Riplinger video. -
Mongol servant, there's a line of KJVO authors that began with 7TH DAY ADVENTIST official Dr. Benjamin Wilkinson in 1930. Ray's book, published in 1955, is next in this line, and is almost a complete plagiarism of W's book. Don't believe it. Just read Wilkinson's Our Authorized Bible Vindicated alongside Ray's book to see for yourself.
I see, MS, that you're stuck in basic KJVOism, believing the trash found in those boox. Take this challenge...Try googling "j j ray", "jasper james ray", "james jasper ray" & see if a bio comes up or not. Also, tryta find out just WHO owns "Eye-Opener Publications".
I believe someone wrote, using a PSEUDONYM of J. J. Ray, in case Wilkinson cried "Foul!"
In 1964, Ruckman wrote "Bible Babel", using much of W's work, while inventing some gobbledegook of his own. In 1970, Dr. D. O. Fuller wrote Which Bible? Fuller copied mucha W's work, even going so far as to tryta hide his CULT AFFILIATION. Those are the founders of the modern KJVO doctrine...a myth steeped in dishonesty as well as false information. Riplinger saw a cash cow & wrote her own stuff, but still relying on W's book for basic misinformation. To this day she continues to deal in half-truths and misinformation. She depends upon the gullible people to keep buying her boox & keeping her livin' large.
This is the line of the current KJVO myth.
How can any devout Baptist, seeing that KJVO came from a CULT OFFICIAL'S book, having been steeped in plagiarism & other dishonesties, as well as containing a blort of misinformation, believe it's from GOD?
The clincher is that KJVO is NOT SUPPORTED BY SCRIPTURE BY THE SLIGHTEST IMPLICATION! it's entirely MAN-MADE & therefore has no place among legitimate Baptist doctrines, which are all obtained from Scripture. Believe it if ya wish, but know that you're ADDING a bummer to the LEGITIMATE doctrines that are derived from SCRIPTURE. -
I would like to say that I don't believe I miss Professor Riplinger's supposed point at all. To the late Professor, apologist and theologian, Cornelius van Til, are attributed this quote, although I do not know if it is original.
"All reasoning is circular."
I agree with that sentiment. However, the problem comes with one who is, or becomes, overly concerned and/or centered with any one single issue or position.
The reasoning there, usually becomes "a vicious circle", one which winds ever tighter and tighter, and becoming more and more 'vicious', until an axiom is taken as a self-fulfilling 'proven' conclusion, where no reasoning or evidence can possibly penetrate, since any difference is obviously false. And nothing may speak in a contrary manner, not even Scripture, since any Scripture that might not seem to agree, is obviously "mis-applied". And that is the problem, hence the unBiblical position, of any 'egocentric' 'theology', of whatever flavor.

Hey, I just coined a term, I believe! Too bad it has bad implications, even if might perhaps often be accurate.
Think I'll stand up, now. My back is hurting from 'stooping over' to communicate on the same the level as the discussion.

Rufus_1611 to Robycop3: //You are over the top and your stuff is poison.//
Actually Robycop3 is RIGHT ON!
I wish I had the 'Signs of Propaganda', they are all found
in Ms. Rimpingers works -
YOU are one of the poison-spreaders, by your advocacy of a false, man-made doctrine. Let's see ya tryta prove that doctrine true or admit it's a bummer. Ya might start with a little SCRIPTURAL SUPPORT.
The use of propaganda ant tale-telling didn't start nor end with Hitler, but he was the best-known practitioner of these methods used to fool the gullible. He said the things the itching German ears wanted to hear, telling just enough truth to be believable. same with GAR. She satisfies the itching ears of the KJVOs who somehow believe that hearing what they wanna hear from a tale-teller will make theis doctrine come true.
I asked ya a few posts ago, Rufus, if you're willing to take the GAR truth test...are ya willing to open one of her boox to some of the 'quotes' she's made & lay it side-by-side with the book from which she quotes? If not, keep right on fooling yourself about her credibility and the false doctrine she(and you) promote. -
Thats enough folks - we've crossed the line once again.
