Mussolini was a pupil of Gentile and a advocate of government control of production.
He also was a career criminal.
The UK is socialistic also with the big welfare state and the filthy prisons and the refusal to allow the lower classes to get ahead.
No, we have redefined marriage many a time in this country. We changed it in 1756 when we abolished Common Law marriage. We did it again when we required marriages to be registered in 1836. And again in the 1880s when we allowed married women to own property rather than be property.
And again when we allowed divorce in 1969 and 1973. We redefined marriage with each of these Acts of Parliament. Every. Single. Time.
But adversely affects no one other than the protagonists (and apparently the occasional baker); I think we should be much more concerned about policies that negatively impact vast swathes of people...
It effects the break down of the societal understanding of what marriage should be. Civil societies cannot be sustained without the Judeo-Christian understanding of marriage and families. It is like trying to use a toy train as a submarine. It doesn't work as it is far from God's design for the family. You cannot change the design established by the designer and expect it will work.
And yet the divorce reform laws cited by me upthread caused far more damage to both that understanding of marriage and society. I don't recall for example a shed load of straight married couples heading for the divorce courts once gay marriage was legalised here
Part of the reason for the chaos in the West is the permissiveness of the left that defies logic.
There has never been a successful leftist society.
They all end up as bankrupt welfare states.
Europe cannot assimilate Muslims because they do not want to assimilate and remain hostile and contemptuous of Europe.
They would throw all gays and lesbians off the roof of the tallest building in London if they could.
I find it entertaining how you and CMG seem to think I've said things that I haven't! Yes, it matters to God. But primarily surely that's between God and the individuals concerned. You can't legislate morality, only the Gospel and the Holy Spirit can effect the change necessary. Meanwhile our poor suffer when we obsess over sex! So preach the Gospel, pray for the Spirit,
pay your taxes and give alms with good cheer, thus doing your bit, and leave the rest to God!
