Who is it that is demanding that Romney give a speech explaining his Mormonism? The media? His Republicans colleagues? The Democrats? Mormons? Baptists? I dont understand what the big deal is. Let the voters decide if his Mormonism is an issue. We Americans have the tendency of talking out of both sides of our mouths at times. We yell and sream about separation of church and state and then expect a presidential candidate to explain his faith before he runs. I dont get it. Does Huckabee have to explain his Baptist faith? Hillary what ever hers is? I am not a Romney supporter, and his Mormonism will play a part in my decision but why does he have to get up and explain it? It wasnt an issue with the voters in Massechusetts.
I don't think anyone is demanding he do it.
He probably wants to do it because of these kinds of sentiments:
(Bolding mine.)
I think it's appropriate (though it shouldn't be legally required) for Romney to talk about his faith precisely because we the people do care about what our candidates believe.
Please show me where in the Constitution an American citizen running for public office has to explain his choice of faith. We all know he is a Mormon. What does he have to explain. That is what I want to know.
FWIW, I would vote for a Mormon, atheist, you name it, if I agreed with the person's politics.
I dislike Romney as a candidate but it has nothing to do with his faith.
Being a Mormon has nothing to do why I refuse to even consider Romney.
It has to do with honesty and being too packaged.
When governor of Massachussetts, he was pro choice, pro gay rights, and pro gun control.
Otherwise he would not have been elected in that state.
Now, by a divine insight right as he is running for President, he is pro life, pro traditional marriage, and the big time hunter.
Baloney.
She is?
Never knew that.
I figured since Bill claimed to be Baptist, that she...would.....submit..............to..........his...........ummm, on second thought, never mind.
We know who wears the pants in that family (literally) :)
