Yesterday's news about the sudden death of Jerry Falwell is overtaken by today's news about the equally sudden death of Yolanda Denise King, the oldest child of Martin Luther and Coretta Scott King. It has not yet been stated what killed her.
I was immensely moved and impressed by the address she gave at the groundbreaking ceremonies for the monument that will honor her father on the National Mall. Eloquent, passionate, intelligent, and Christian.
At some time ... but now just now ... we need to ponder how different people can be and still go by the label Baptist! I am pretty sure her political stances, if they mirror those of her parents, would have been markedly different from Falwell's. But I am grateful for the tradition of soul freedom that permits us, even encourages us, to arrive at spiritual conclusions for ourselves.

I am saddened to her of her death. :tear:
You have raised an interesting point on the varying political stances of individuals and their impact on society in addition to their impact regarding their faith. We have lost two very different, yet equally great, Christians this week. I am sure they are rejoicing together in heaven even as we type. I am proud to call both of them brother and sister in Christ. -

A child of God going home is always cause for praise.
