Sad day for his family, Liberty faculty, staff, students, and alumni, and for the larger Christian community. However it is a great day for Falwell himself since he is now in the presence of the Lord. I thank God for the ministry of Jerry Falwell.
I got my Associates degree and was just accepted into Liberty University to complete my Bachelors degree. If you go to the school website, there is not a lot posted yet, but I am sure there will be when they get over the shock.
I can see him rejoicing in Glory now, listening to the Heavenly Choir.
Sometimes I absolutely grimaced at the way that Dr. Falwell said things ;) BUT I was always so very glad that I knew exactly where he stood on everything on which he spoke!
He is in glory today! Hallelujah!
On the website - When Dr. Corts died, I was able to get something up much more quickly on the school website (being a committee of one) than the the church webmaster was able because there was so much more to consider on the church end. They wanted it to be full and fitting. AND we knew Mark was nearing the end. I know Liberty, Thomas Road, and all will honor Dr. Falwell well when all the material gets pulled together -- such an enormous task.
