Difference is the ad being fake, which the Supreme Court actually mentioned. So fake, no one would have thought it was real. Your hypothetical statements weren't obviously fake, intended at poking fun or being ironic.

 

Seemed plain (to me, anyway) that, while not really qualifying as satire, the two intentionally preposterous statements were intended only as illustration.

 

He did the same thing in an evolution thread. Pretty much said he was tired of debating to unqualified opponents. He is a snob. Not gossip, for he can see my words. Go2Church's job here is to remind us how we don't measure up to him.
