This is what makes since to me. If the pastor is preaching from the King James Bible then the congregation should also be using the same Bible. Why? I'm glad you asked. So that everyone can be on the same page. Why create confusion. God is not the author of confusion, the devil is and that is what the new versions are doing. That's right, the new versions today are a product of the spirit of antichrist. Think about it, if there were only the King James Bible we would not even be having this conversation. The devil knew that God had published his perfect word and the devil had to react and he did, the ASV, NIV, etc. etc.

Thankyou for sucessfully ignoring my post above as I predicted. But I want to reply to this.
Then why did God see it fit to make the KJV when we all had a perfect translation in the Geneva Bible, in every pulpit across the land? Was God introducing confusion! If the Geneva wasn't the perfect Bible, then there WAS NO PERFECT BIBLE before 1611 and God was A LIAR! -

Homebound: "Faith that God will preserve his word."
Homebound: "By faith, I believe the King James
Bible is what God wanted us
to have in all faith and practice.
IMHO these two statements are DIFFERENT.
However, it appears to me you
believe them to be the same ?
Which is the KJB?
I have three variants KJVs on
my computer desk:
KJV1611
KJV1769
KJV1873.
Which is the KJB?
If these vary one with the other,
by faith which do you suggest
I believe?
Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

1. Here is someone deeply involved in the conversation and adamant about one particular side who admits he doesn't have a clue about major issues involved.
2. Here is someone who makes yet another baseless assertion on the basis of his personal preference rather than on the basis of God's word.
3. Here is someone who fails to follow his own logic: If the existence of the KJV proves that its predecessors were lacking, then the existence of the NASB, NIV, etc prove that its predecessors (including the KJV) are lacking something.
This is the type of thing you get when you let people just repeat a mantra without ever being forced to reckon with the truth. They distort and twist in order to maintain their own personal preferences. Brethren, these things ought not so to be ... -

That’s right folks I will admit, I know nothing about the Greek, Hebrew, TR, or all those other scholaric things, but wait, I have already admitted this before. I am just an ordinary man reading God’s word and believing it to be true. If God wanted me too know those things mentioned above, he would give me more brains. Instead, I’m just like the other folks in the pews, I speak English and God saw me coming and supplied me with the King James Bible. Now you tell me that in order to understand God’s word I must know these other things. Well I say no thank you, I see what it has done to you and want no part of it. -
Since you have ignored to respond to my post on the TR, I will asume you have conceited and will no longer claim the KJV translators used THE TR to translate from. The must have just magically known the exact variants in all the manuscripts they used.
So you admit that the Geneva Bible wasn't perfect. Good. At least we share first grade logic between us. Now, do tell, where was the perfect word. Please don't say the Textus Receptus, unless you wish to interact with my post above? You don't think God was a LIAR for 1611 years minus a few, do you? -

Here is the mantra: "KJB1611-AV"
There is what it means in practice:
1) never use the KJV1611
2) God authorized the KJV1769
(or did King James, authorizer
of the KJV1611, come back from the dead?)
I got interested iln the KJVO position
thusly. I visited the Bible Museum at
Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I got a sheet
of paper for $2 which was a copy of
a page from
the real KJV1611 (gothic print and all).
I thought i'd check on the internet
(this was back before Goggle ;) )
so i put KJV1611" into the search engine.
It found 100s of site.
(1620 sites are shown today if you
ask Goggle about "KJV1611)
The sites were KJVO sites. Not one
had even a sample of KJV1611. They
practicaly worship the KJV1769 and/or
KJV1873 but NEVER use the REAL KJV1611.
KJVO is a pathetic condition that
limits God to one and only one
English Bible. The real God who trascends
the petty thoughts of people has provided
well over 100 English Bibles all containing
the inerrant written Word of God: the Holy Bible.
IF you are going to shout
"Amen, Brother -- Preach it"
now would be a good time :D
Did anybody ever PM Brother Pete
and offer to fax him the missing
BAGD pages? -
"Amen, Brother -- Preach it"

Ed Edwards, please supply me with God's perfect word.

I know a corner.
in sight is a KFC, 1 seafood place, 2 pizza places,
2 Mexican food places, 1 Indian food (east Indian),
i Chineese resturant. If a person had $20 and
it was noon, it would be a shame to starve there.
God has so blessed us that He has given us
His written word: the Holy Bible in multitude.
God has given His Living Word: The Lord Jesus
(the Messiah) in one and only one form.
I have ten English Bibles on my desk that holds
my computer. Everyone of them contain
God's perfect written word.
They are (from upper left to right, top down)
Contemporary English Version (CEV)
Amplified Bible
In one book, 4 perfect written word of God:
1. New Internation Version (NIV)
2. New American Standard Bible (NASB)
3. KJV1873
4. New Living Translation (NLT)
Other single bibles per book:
New International Version
New Century Version
KJV1611
KJV1769

All the Hebrew-Greek aids, and Bible study books, and The Strongs, Dictionaries, and Lexical aids do, is help you to understand the words used. It does not change the words. Nor is it required to speak in Hebrew or Greek. Some words could not be translated accurately into any language so these aids can show you it in its original form, helping you to understand what it is God was trying to relate to you, and me, even as simple ordinary people.
All these different aids do is help the reader of God's Word, understand the history of the writer, or understand the Word, and unless you speak Greek accurately, there are times when you will need to know which meaning of a Word fits into each scripture. So these aids can help you.
To down a man because he desires to know all of God's Word is wrong. That does show signs of ignorance.
Even a simple man can pray for "Wisdom", and "Knowledge", and "Understanding", to learn all of what God has for him to be able to know. Even a simple woman can.
But don't let your ignorance of asking God for those three things, stand in the way, or be a stumbling block for another simple man, who does desire those three things, and does pray to know Gods Word. (those three things being Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding).
God Bless

THERE IS NO ONE TR TO WHICH THEY COULD HAVE TRANSLATED!
THERE IS NO ONE TR TO WHICH THEY COULD HAVE TRANSLATED!
THERE IS NO ONE TR TO WHICH THEY COULD HAVE TRANSLATED!
THERE IS NO ONE TR TO WHICH THEY COULD HAVE TRANSLATED!
THERE IS NO ONE TR TO WHICH THEY COULD HAVE TRANSLATED!
That was my whole point to the thread I posted before, and you simply ignored it. Why do you ignore that? Did you read the post? Do you think I made it up? -
