Nader will continue his slide toward irrelevancy in electoral politics. He has become the new Harold Stassen.

He will draw votes away from the Democrats. Fine by me. Run Ralph, run.

I would be curious to know of the people who do vote would have either not voted at all or would have voted for another 3rd party candidate?

In this election he may draw votes from both sides. All republicans are not behind McCain as they were with Bush... My $00.02

I doubt that the 50,000 votes that Mr. Nader will receive nationwide will have any impact on who wins any particular state.

The disaffected Republicans are generally more of the conservative stripe. Moderates like McCain. I don't see any reason why a conservative would vote for the very liberal Nader, except as a protest vote.

I do wonder, though, if Nader isn't a closet conservative.

I've wondered this as well, but it really doesn't matter. I don't think Nader will draw many votes from anyone. For one thing, Nader is older than McCain, and some are questioning if McCain is too old. I also don't think there is a segment for Nader to capitalize on that is not better answered with another candidate.

Yes, but that isn't the point. Iit seems like he's paid by one of the parties to take votes which then allows them to win.
