There is a listing of Independant Fundamental Baptist Churches on one of the links below...click on it and see what churches are in your area...and then visit. If the preacher is strong on adhering to the Bible...that is a good start. You could also ask a pastor that you respect. That's what I plan on doing when I move.
We Believe In...
the inspiration, inerrancy and authority of the Bible.
the preservation of the King James Bible as God's Word.
the trinity-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
the creation of the world in six literal days.
the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
the spiritually dead condition of the human race.

Look below this page, where it says Baptist Top 1000, etc...those are links... I found an old friend of mine through one of the church listings who is a Pastors wife.There's one that links by state...that's how I found my friend...because I knew their church was in Arizona...but I couldn't remember the name of it.

Caveat - there are a lot of strange birds that are out there under the heading of "independent fundamental baptist".
You not only have true historic fundamentalists, but also every direction to the right and left.
To the right? KJVonly sect, Pastor dictator, 1-2-3 pray after me easy believism, etc
To the left? liberal theology, ecumenicism, new evangelical
EITHER DIRECTION is a problem. So make certain the church's basic underlying philosophy and program are in line with you. Then the occasional drift right or left will be of little consequence.

I fully agree with you that it belongs on the left side. However, I was in a fundamental (no quote marks) Baptist church that taught this. It is sad to say that I went to Bible College thinking I was saved when, in reality, I was a child of the devil.Originally posted by Justified:

I repented of my sins and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ a Year out of college when I was an associate Preacher. After I got saved, I stepped down from that position for obvious reasons.

Easy believism to the LEFT? Well, it could go there (from the Billy Graham ilk) of salvation lite.
BUT
The BIGGEST problem I've seen in 33+ years in the ministry is "easy believism" on the RIGHT! The hyper legalist, soul winning type, Hyles, bus ministries - they ALL deemphasize repentance (a part of REAL salvaiton).
Have seen "hundreds" of conversions of little bus kids who "raised a hand" or prayed a "1-2-3-pray-after-me" little ditty that meant NOTHING. It is a sham of salvation, worse than anything at a Graham crusade.
Example: One fellow said he took his bus to the park in Chicago, and said anyone who "got saved" could have a snow-cone. All 70+ got "saved". He laughed and said some came on the bus, prayed when to the back and got the cone, jumped out the back door and went back in line, getting saved 3-4 times that afternoon.
BROTHERS I am ashamed that these charlatans call themselves Baptist like I am.

Some have had very good suggestions. Wisdom seeker-I found the links. I don't believe in easy believism, repentence definetly is a requirement of salvation.
But we are still in a bind. The churches around here say they believe the fundamentals, etc. But they do not preach it nor live it. Do we compromise what we believe and go to these churches anyway, just for the sake of going to church?

I agree with Dr. Bob, you need to find a church that does not teach easy believism. Also, please do not look for a church that will just minister to you and your family...find a church that you can become active in and become part of the ministering to others as well.
Do not over look the smaller churches either...sometimes they are smaller because they will not give in to liberism.

We have been driving an hour one way to church for the last three months or so, every service which wears on you after awhile, especially twice a day on Sunday. Three years ago, we would drive 2 1/2 hours one way on Sundays until we moved. We do not have a problem driving but if we are going to make the effort we want to make sure it is the right place for us. Also, with driving so far away, that takes away from the local in local church. How can we serve in our community if our church isn't in the community that we live?

Our nearest Baptist Church is some distance away and all the surrounding churches are Free Methodist, Pentecostal, United Pentecostal (which is about as close as one can come to Jehovah's Witness, liberal churches and our Anglican Church, which is evangelical.
I am in a little different boat, in that I am in retirement. My wife does all the driving, so it is hard on her. I grew up in the Anglican Church, so the service doesn't trouble me, but I would love to attend a good old Baptist service,,,,without drums,,,,and that is very hard to do anymore. It is not easy to find a church anymore.
God bless you for wanting to do what is right and proper for you and your family. May the Lord guide you into that path.

Walls, Have you contacted any church planting ministries? Bob Jones U. is a associated with one. There is one called Baptist Church Planters, go figure... The GARBC also plants churches.
All of these groups are genuine fundamentalists (non-KJVO, non-easy believism) and will probably follow up with you when you contact them.
What theological points do you reject churches on? Have you studied those issues to make sure you have a real biblical basis for your prejudice?

As far as points, well we don't know much doctrine. The churches where we have been have never taught on this subject. It has always been left up to yourself. Not knowing where to start or what to study, we haven't had much growth in this department.
We are only going on what we believe to be correct as we have read in the scriptures. We do believe in seperation from state and the world, and that for the most part is our guide.
