I got a mouse, installed it, lost the cd, but I don't think it matters, I did run it before I lost it.
Every time I restart the computer I have to reinstall the hardware for the mouse.
What didn't I do right?
I didn't UNinstall anything first, should I have?
What do I do now?

Oh, and if it helps the computer says when I turn it back on that it hasn't detected the mouse. I just thought it wouldn't work at all then I tried the hardware install thingie and it did, but I have to do it every time I shut down the computer.

Step AWAY from the emoticons!
I've had this computer online for an outrageous amount of time waiting for an answer.
Oh, and about kitties! I think I just inherited a cat and a dog. They came with the house I'm moving into. VERY confusing! The previous owners just out and asked the kids if they wanted them!

We love you, Gina! I'm emailing a link to this page to my son -- he'll probably be able to have a suggestion. Hang in there!

computer /mouse problem........................
-
Hi Gina,
Here is what my son just sent:
About the mouse problem, not too sure. Sounds like it could be a hardware conflict, but if she just changed the mouse, there shouldn't be any issues. The mouse itself could have a problem, but I haven't seen a mouse problem manifest itself in this manor. One thought, was it the same type of mouse (PS2, USB, etc.). I have to go right now (busy as always). I will think about the problem and see if anything occurs to me.
How is the problem now, by the way? -
Still the same problem. If I need to reboot I either have to reinstall the hardware or wait for a number of hours before restarting or it happens again. :(

Search on google for the mouse and model number. See if there any new drivers for it.
Check List
1) Did you uninstall the old mouse drivers?
2) Have you fed your mouse lately?
3) Before you install a new mouse you have to install the drivers that came with.
4) Why did you get rid of your old mouse for?
5) Cheese is good for pet mouse.
6) You now have a cat, feed it the mouse!
7) hmmm throw the mouse out the window!
8) refer back to step 1 -
Now that is a new one. Imagine, a house coming equipped with pets. I bet that's intended to replace the equipped kitchen, right?
