I thought you didn't like The Impossible Astronaut?

I don't disagree, per se, but I've also enjoyed the story arcs. I think there's room in the Who universe for both.

But, I want to point out that this was the whole point of this paragraph.

I think this is what Moffat wants to do, but you just don't go from the nonsense of Journey's End to getting where he wants to go without a "reset". Plus, he had the story of River Song that he wanted to tell. The rumor I've heard is that S7 is going to feature more stand-alone stories that don't have a season long story arc, though there are still some loose ends that haven't been tied up.

This isn't some new concept that we've only seen in S5 and S6. RTD was doing this throughout his time as showrunner.

I was watching The Wedding of River Song again last Saturday and I realized something. How did the Daleks, Cybermen, Sontarans, etc., wind up working together to imprison the Doctor in the Pandorica? The Silence told them to. I was reminded of this when the Doctor was getting information from the Dalek about the Silence.

Lost Episodes Of Doctor Who Found!

Two classic episodes of Doctor Who - thought to be missing forever - have been returned to the BBC archive.

Episode 3 of the William Hartnell adventure "Galaxy 4" and Episode 2 of Patrick Troughton's "The Underwater Menace" were purchased by film collector Terry Burnett at a village fete near Southampton in the early 80s. He had been unaware that the canisters contained material missing from the BBC.

Thanks to the kind loan by Mr Burnett, the classic footage has been shown today at the British Film Institute's annual "Missing Believed Wiped" event at the National Film Theatre in London. Host at the event was Doctor Who writer and actor Mark Gatiss who said: "Christmas has come early for Doctor Who fans everywhere. It's always wonderful when a missing episode turns up but it's been years since the last one so to have two is just brilliant. Add to that a proper bit of action from the legendary Chumblies (and the horrifying Rills!) plus the utterly mesmeric Patrick Troughton on great form. Well, what more could we all ask for?"

Clip from episode 2 of The Underwater Menace is on YouTube.

Looks good. Have you heard rumors that Tom Baker will be in a multi-Doctor story this season?

I try to stay away from anything resembling a spoiler or a rumor, so I haven't heard a thing.

Have you heard about the prequel, Pond Life, running in advance of the premier this Saturday night?

    Here's part 1. Interesting woman.

Here's part 2. The future is really, really safe.

Here's part 3. Ood on the loo.

I might have to torrent it that afternoon so I don't have to wait until 8:00 and watch it with commercials on BBC America.

Loved the twists with Oswyn but not sure how the Moff is going to have Jenna-Louise Coleman pop up again as Clara from Christmas. But...Oswyn Oswald and Clara Oswin....hmmm...

    The Doctor lies.

This fact was established before S6 and was stated as such during S6. It's a pretty easy leap to make that Moff lies as well. Despite Moff saying there was no season story arc for S7 like there was in S5 and S6, there is, at minimum, a continuation of the story that was started in The Eleventh Hour. What was once the Doctor's oldest and most hated enemy has to be involved in whatever happens on the Plains of Tranzalore. I have little doubt of this.

Here's Pond Life Part 5 and though it's a little too late for last week, it's definitely worth watching. Fair warning. It will break your heart.

In Moff we trust? Yes, yes we do.

    Dinosaurs! On a spaceship!

    What a great episode.

We've now seen 2 episodes where somebody has never heard of the Doctor. I suggested a few days ago that we have a continuation of the story that was started in The Eleventh Hour and has continued through S6 into S7. It's undeniable now since a) the Daleks don't him anymore and b) Solomon couldn't identify him.

The Silence are still playing their version of The Long Game with The Doctor as their target.

    a) The Daleks don't know him anymore because Oswin erased the Doctor from the Dalek's database in Asylum of the Daleks.

    b) I presume that is why Solomon couldn't identify him as well, or perhaps because Solomon's computer ID system was visually based there is no photo record of the Doctor's newest incarnation.
